Sheraton Denver West Hotel

Did not have breakfast

The hotel is excellent. Personnel are helpful. The restaurant has really good food and three meals a day. A hash browns and bacon or crisp and tasty and the eggs are great. The fitness center is well equipped. The room was quiet, comfortable great air conditioning, and a great view. The shower was good temperature, the hot water came on quickly, and I had no risk of slipping. The front desk easy to reach and responsive.

It was under renovation but still a nice hotel

Not enough parking and under construction still. Pretty dirty in common areas. Ice machine did not work on our floor and there was exposed cables all along the ceiling.

Bed was comfy

Staff all smelled like cigarettes. They were very casual and not terribly customer focused. Only exception was the bartender at the restaurant who gave great service.

It was exactly what we expected, nothing fancy, but generally clean, quiet and what we needed for our trip to Denver.

Only complaint was that it was under construction while we were there so the lobby felt tight and uninviting.

Bed was super comfortable.

Do not stay at this property until they are completely done with construction and renovation. Two adults and three teenagers had two rooms at this hotel last weekend as we were going to a concert at red rock. We stayed here Saturday through Tuesday and the location is great to be able to explore Denver in the surrounding areas like golden, Morrison and Evergreen along with Cherry Creek but the hotel itself is a total disaster. When we checked in, we were greeted by 2 attendees that were outside smoking and vaping on the curb. Not the best impression especially when you’re bringing 3 13 year-olds to stay at this hotel. Upon checking in, they told us that the water would be off from 10 PM to 4 AM because of plumbing issues. We asked for a renovated room, but were told there were none and we were put on the sixth floor. When we got to our floor, we noticed all of the sprinkler wires hanging from the ceiling. There was barely any lights in the hallway. The carpet was at least 50 years old years old and none of our keys worked for our rooms. When we went back downstairs, we were given new keys, which continued to work on and off the routes are stay at this hotel. The rooms inside are exactly what you would think. They are old, smell moldy, and my daughter‘s room upon entering had the windows open. My daughter and her friends were a little nervous to stay here, but we assured them they would be safe. The hotel said they have been under renovation for a year now and let me tell you the only thing that has been done is the second floor, which is where the pool in the fitness center are. The pool is an indoor pool. This hotel needs to shut down and warn people about the ongoing renovations and the fact that you might not have water one night and the fact that the club lounge is super small and does not offer a variety for breakfast. I had to ask the attendee to go grab more yogurt and muffins as she just sat there and stared at me. The staff is very inattentive to your needs and there are several other hotels in the area that you should stay at.

My Husband and I stayed the night after our wedding, the Sheraton came highly recommended from our venue right down the street. We had a wonderful check in experience but truly after that it was terrible. The AC in our room did not work, we were told several times it was going to be fixed by maintenance and it was not. It was 80 degrees in the room and was so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep or enjoy the evening at all. We left the room several times just to get fresh air as being in the room was MISERABLE. We were never offered to change rooms or fix the problem other than telling us after it was looked at it would take some time to cool down. It never cooled down. At check out when I AGAIN brought this up I was told the engineer couldn’t fix it while we were in the room and that was the problem. Well why aren’t we asked to leave the room? To switch rooms? To have a drink or eat some food while it was looked at? Truly we had a wonderful wedding but our wedding night was a very uncomfortable disaster and it’s a shame. We did our research before staying here and thought we were picking a great place. I’m very disappointed in the service, experience and room quality. I’m not one to typically complain but this was well below any expectations I feel we had.
