Hampton Inn Chicago-Tinley Park

Let me start out by saying that the only reason I'm not giving them five stars is that there's no hot tub (having one is one of my personal five-star criteria). The property does need a few cosmetic repairs but nothing that affected my satisfaction. I chose this Hampton Inn as the rates were much lower than other nearby Hilton properties. It's one of the older Hampton Inns, so if older decor bothers you don't choose this hotel. I love the older decor so I was happy. My room was ready when I arrived; it was spotless and as anticipated. For once there were plenty of cups in the room and plenty of other supplies (coffee, toiletries, towels, etc). The AC in my room worked beautifully and I was able to have the cold room I prefer. I didn't have to wait forever to get hot water in my shower. The pool is fairly large for a Hampton pool; it has plenty of seating room and plenty of hotel-provided pool towels. The breakfast area is small compared with other Hampton Inns but the breakfast itself was very good. I was there at opening time (6am) so it wasn't crowded; I can't speak to how crowded it gets and how quickly the attendant replenishes the food. Offerings were the usual Hampton fare -- nothing fancy but very good. As for other meals, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance or a short drive. Although this property is older, it was nicer than a supposedly "recently renovated" property I stayed at recently. Front desk staff were very pleasant and gave walking directions to local eateries. I would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at Hampton Inn Chicago/Tinley Park from June 19–23 while visiting family, our home church, and attending a reunion. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had. The lobby was small, dimly lit, and uninviting. The entire hotel is outdated and in desperate need of renovation. The elevator was tiny, dirty, and barely fit our family and a luggage cart. Our room was poorly lit and not very clean—I brought my own supplies and found several areas that had clearly been missed. Outlets were loose and sparked when used. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and we barely slept. We also had to endure loud thumping above us each night. The in-room fridge didn’t keep items cold and turned off every 2 hours, causing my baby’s milk to spoil. The AC couldn’t keep the room cool in 90+ degree heat, and the vent was clogged with debris. The TV was small, outdated, and offered no guide. Staff were unprofessional. One refused to bring towels, and another handed them to us without a word while texting. Nothing about our stay was enjoyable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere.

The manager Patrick was amazing. Breakfast was good. Very nice and friendly staff.

Hotel is in a great location if you are planning on going to Tinley Park for a concert. There are food places and a gas station walking distance from the hotel.

Smelly lobby, worse smelling room, dirty and beat up furniture. Woken up early morning by kitchen noises, front desk was rude and couldn't care less. The smell was gruesome and I could barely sleep. I was driving long way and just wanted to rest for the night, hilton has been failing me lately and supposed diamond membership doesn't help much.

We were there for my son‘s wedding. He had rooms blocked and when he and his new wife got to the hotel, they did not have his reservation and she had a confirmation number. My daughter and her fiancé had to find another hotel so they could give my son and his new bride the room
