HODI Hotel

The host were amazing and friendly. It was my anniversary with my girlfriends and they decorated my room and got her flowers. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The property is very close to the beach and had everything walking distance. I will definitely be staying her again when I come back. Best bang for your buck.

Hodi Hotel is in a phenomenal location if you are looking for merriment. A 5 minute walk, or less, takes you to the hopping My Khe beach and coconut coffee glory. This is why you should stay there. The hotel stay itself I found quite below average and problematic BUT the location and price are the real selling points, so if you can deal with the issues below, go for it.

I had several major issues with Hodi: The front desk refused to accept a credit card for payment and would only accept cash. This was aggravating late at night as it required leaving our luggage at the desk and walking to find a working ATM that would let us withdraw the comically large amount of bills required. They also wanted us to cancel with Booking.com and pay them directly "for a lower rate". I didn't like this. The hotel is an older building and you cannot flush toilet paper. Well, you can, but your toilet will clog. My friend forgot this, borked the toilet and had to go downstairs for tools to resolve it. To their credit, the front desk was helpful in this regard. Despite multiple people staying in the room, the Hodi team were unwilling to provide more than one room key. Some excuse was made about how 'their key card system didn't allow that.' but I found this unconvincing. They did offer to unlock the room for us if we arrived back separately, which we did, often. The air conditioning in the room was anemic and struggled to keep up, nothing new for Vietnam really, but the room was also quite humid and sticky. Unpleasant overall. But in fairness, you aren't spending time in the hotel, you're sipping La Rue beer on My Khe beach and watching the TikTok set perform their bizarre mating dances. Right? Yes.

Great location where you can walk to beach in 3 mins as well as good shops down stairs. Basic room that was comfortable. Younger girl who worked there was nice and friendly

They did offer money exchange and the rate was ridiculously high where they would be keeping $50AUD. Then I walked around the corner to another place where the rate was normal and I only lost $5 Room was fair price but nothing wow about it

HODI hotel is very good for a single person who wants a clean room, comfortable bed, and just a basic and affordable place to land while exploring Da Nang. It is not a luxury hotel. The furniture is older, but is well kept up and there is a mini fridge and basics in the bathroom, which is also very clean. If you have two people, you may want to ask for a larger room. My room was great for a solo traveler, but two would have been tight. It is small, privately-owned, and the staff (especially the girl at the counter) are very helpful and nice. The location is excellent, and you simply cannot beat the cheap price. The room was very clean, and has everything a single person would need. If you are a solo traveler with basic needs for good location, a clean place, and a very responsive staff eager to fix any problems that could possibly arise, this is your place! They even helped arrange a very affordable last-minute tour of the Ba Na hills upon my arrival. So the connection to tours is also a big plus. I originally planned to visit the beach but did not make it after, but I drove by it on the tour, and I can tell it was very very close to the hotel and looked nice.

Being American, I am used to Air Conditioning, which this hotel DOES have A/C (so just to make that clear). The one thing to consider is that this is a room that only operates the A/C when there is a room key placed into the door slot. What that means is that if you are not inside the room, then the A/C is not cooling the room. So if you are gone all day, it might be hot when you come back into the room. This could be a deal breaker for some people who expect constant climate control in their rooms. I was ok with it for a short trip, and I've experienced this kind of setup before in budget accomodations for the lights, but not the A/C. But for a long-term stay, I think I'd want to have constant A/C. However, don't let this deter you. Speak to the front desk staff and maybe they would be willing to give you two key cards to run the A/C if you stay for a longer time. They seem very willing to work with their guests and address anything that is needed. They are very responsive.

As a solo female traveller, the location was perfect. The staff were very accommodating. The room and bathroom were clean.
