Yadoya Manjiro

Our host was wonderful, hospitality was above and beyond, the ryokan was cozy and comfortable and very authentic. Breakfast was fantastic, we had such a wonderful experience, we will visit again!

Beautiful smaller hotel and rooms, super clean and attentive staff. Very close to transportation and tourist attractions, but extremely quiet and ”off the beaten path”. A small oasis of peace and serenity. Bathroom included in the rooms and showers in the basement which felt like a small spa. Amazing for cold Kyoto days. The breakfast was also amazing. 10/10 experience.

Yadoya Manjiro was beautiful, tidy, and very conveniently located. This was our first time staying at a ryokan. We appreciated not only the traditional interior design of our accommodation, but also the unexpected amenities (such as the yukata and welcome snacks prepared by our host) and the relaxing atmosphere. The futons were comfortable, the spaces were clean, and room service was thorough. The calm and peacefulness of the space belied the ryokan’s close proximity to popular tourist attractions and good eats/drinks, many of which were within a short walking distance. Our stay was elevated by outstanding service from the host, who was very attentive, helpful, and kind. It felt like everything for our stay was prepared and done with care. Make reservations for the traditional Japanese breakfast- it was one of the highlight meals of our trip! Each dish was so delicious, and I enjoyed the music that accompanied our meal. I wish I asked for the breakfast playlist! Would definitely recommend this accommodation and come back for a return trip!

Such a lovely place to stay right in the city center. The atmosphere is warm and charming. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, which made the stay even more special. If you’re visiting Kyoto, this is a place you shouldn’t miss.

The property is a traditional ryokan and it is perfect if you would like to have the ryokan stay experience. The owner is very friendly. My room on the ground floor came with a toilet but I have to share the bathroom, which is clean and came with all the amenities. The owner will run you a bath too. The Japanese breakfast is so delicious and meticulously prepared, not to be missed. Guests will also have a dessert every evening. The location is perfect as it is only 2 minutes from Sannenzaka and Ninnenzaka and five minutes to Kiyomizu Temple, perfect if you would like to get sunrise shots of these places!

While guests are free to use the living area, there isn't much to do at the space. I ended up in my room most of the time.
