A bit expensive

What a fabulous place to stay! The Amerikalinjen goes above and beyond what you'd expect from a quality hotel - beautifully and individually decorated throughout, with lovely 'quirks' like the quaint 'reading room'. My bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed, with lovely toiletries and large towels. Plus, the breakfast is just the best you can imagine! All the food here was first-class - we had four breakfasts plus a lunch and dinner too. All were delicious. I cannot speak too highly of the staff, who are warm and welcoming and who make staying here an absolute pleasure. Special mention to Chris and Kiss, the bar tenders in Pier 42 - they are not only fabulously knowledgeable about their craft but willing to take time and trouble in helping us choose the perfect drinks for our tastes. If you're looking for a wonderfully relaxed stay but with the highest standards then book this hotel!

I had the pleasure of experiencing the unique jazz night at Club Gustav in the Amerikalinjen Hotel on Saturday night. Everything was exceptional, it was a small intimate setting with 10/10 customer service and an INCREDIBLE live music experience. I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your must-do list when visiting Oslo!

Lovely hotel and excellent breakfast but found a note in my room when I arrived to warn me that construction would be ongoing throughout my stay. No notice provided regarding this prior. The room was so warm that I needed to open a window, which amplified the noise through the day-some days until 7pm. Significantly impacted on quiet down time in room and would have been untenable which a child.

The hotel Amerikalinjen in Oslo is stunning, a lovely old building, fully modernised, with great decor and sophisticated lighting and heating. It is in the perfect position to sightsee Central Oslo, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We needed some rest and quiet as we were recovering from a heartbreaking bereavement, and this hotel was the perfect place for recuperation.Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and well equipped.The breakfasts were amazing, fabulous food, and much to choose from, have not had a better breakfast in any hotel worldwide. Basically loved this hotel, great value for money.

If you are looking for an unforgettable night out, look no further than Club Gustav at Amerikalinjen. I recently attended a jazz concert here, and it was easily the highlight of my trip. The atmosphere is pure "speakeasy chic"—intimate, dimly lit, and incredibly stylish. Under the artistic direction of Felix Peikli, the musical quality is world-class; we’re talking high-energy, virtuosic performances that had the whole room captivated. The acoustics are perfect, the cocktails from Pier 42 are some of the best in the city, and the service is seamless. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic date or a sophisticated night with friends. Don't miss this hidden gem!

The bathroom in the big corner rooms, the shower, hot and large. Design great. Large windows. The restaurant. Location fantastic. Quiet even though central.

Lines and pillows not up to price point/ like a hospital. Housekeeping a bit hit and miss.

Perfect location next to Oslo Central Station, beautiful design, great breakfast, and amazing service.
