Compass Rose Lodge

Wow! Wow! Totally surpassed our expectations for a 2 night get away from SLC. We skied Snow Basin which is a 15 minute easy drive from here. The room was fantastic and large (#9). Loved the lodge decor. Everyone was super friendly. Will definitely be back!

Lovely stay at a well appointed Inn. Service was fantastic. Star gazing is a must. Highly recommend for local getaway or out-of-town visit. Good coffee on site. Local town area could use a good restaurant. Next town over has some good options. Local micro distillery is a must-tour as well.

The facilities are top-notch--clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Staff could not be kinder or more helpful. And the cafe (early hours and delicious coffee) was a real bonus. It would have been a perfect stay were it not for a scheduled power outage that disrupted my sleep as the fan required for temperature control and white noise was out for roughly four hours overnight. As a result, I slept about half as long as normal and was dragging the entire next day. As I had booked the stay to catch up on work, this proved a rather unfortunate consequence. The outage was scheduled by the city and the hotel did inform me upon arrival; I just wish I had known beforehand because I easily could have flexed my arrival day to avoid it. Nevertheless, I would feel comfortable recommending the Lodge to most anyone.

We enjoyed staying at the Compass Rose Lodge. Every room has lovely collectible items and how they use them as part of the interior design. The room is excellent, and the outdoor garden is impressive.

The lodge is beautifully furnished and artfully decorated. It is very quiet and peaceful. However, service is almost nonexistent! We stayed here for four nights, breakfast was the same very day, and on the last day when we got ready to leave about 8:30 in the morning, no one was there, so we didn’t even have breakfast. The worst part was I couldn’t even get a cup of coffee!! Speaking of coffee, there weren’t any tea or coffee or even hot water available in the rooms, nor in the that beautiful lounge. The attached coffee shop closes at 5 pm. The town of Huntsville is very small, there isn’t another coffee shop. By the way, on that Monday, the coffee shop wasn’t open!

The Compass Rose was recommended by my daughter and it did not disappoint. Small boutique hotel with thoughtful touches like chocolate truffles on my bed for a nighttime indulgence. Inviting and comfortable lobby for hanging out. Clean and comfy rooms. Wonderful cafe with free drip coffee and croissant breakfast sandwiches to order for hotel guests. Even a historic saloon within walking distance. Hotel staff could not have been freindlier. Small town gem!

Super clean rooms, lovely touches and great coffee shop for breakfast! Enjoyed our night here and would recommend to other travelers going through the area. Loved the Beekman soap in the bathrooms! Cute lobby to hang out. They’ve done a nice job anticipating the guests needs.

Perfect stay in a beautiful area. I am a professional vacation rental host with high standards and an eye for detail. The Compass Rose did not disappoint, the rooms were tasteful, the bedding was extremely comfortable, and the built-in coffee shop was an excellent cherry on top!!! P.S. I highly recommend renting one of the bikes and taking a cruise to the point!!

Fabulous boutique hotel that transports you to your favorite Hallmark movie. The details were lovely, staff is super friendly and the coffee shop is top notch! I wish I would have had time to enjoy all the amenities they had to offer. I did however, thoroughly enjoy their breakfast sandwich (which was free with my stay as well as drip coffee) and their seasonal latte! Would stay again!
