Most comfortable bed I've had at a hotel in years! Special shout out to Olyer Otarola who provided excellent service and assistance!
Driving up to the property on the mountain roads may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I absolutely loved it. Once there the staff was welcoming, property, unique, and beautiful, and the things to do in and around the property are very worthwhile.
Loved this place. Room with bath was very nice. The grounds were beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Monteverde Park and is directly across from the Park headquarters. The restaurant was outstanding. Everything was great!
Very nice place.
Unfortunately the room wasn’t well cleaned. Underwear on the bathroom floor. Head board was stained and very dusty so we covered it with a towel. The hostel was really nice but our room needed some attention.
Generally it was fine. Several "as advertised" things were not functional, ie one of the two hot tubs, the cinema room apparently no longer exists/is closed, the "common kitchen" was not available. Many shared showers were not cleaned often enough or would run out of toilet paper. The staff seemed to be doing the best with what they were given.
This property is also called the lodge that is right across the street from the parking for the cloudy mist Forest. If you are going to the forest this is an excellence place to spend the night the night before that way you have easy access in the morning. Get breakfast is also excellent and advisable to add to your room for the night stay.
I stayed for 3 nights at Selina and my experience was wonderful! The hotel had a lovely, clean room and the hotel grounds were lush, beautiful and green. Getting around by foot is a bit difficult given how remote the hotel is but you are across the street from a shuttle that can take you directly to the cloud forest, the hotel has a transit stop outside of it and the hotel can provide you with a reliable, safe ride share option. There is also a restaurant on site where you can get very good food conveniently. Hotel staff can also help you book tours in Monteverde. We took the Night Walk Tour and it was so fun!
