Hotel des Colonies Brussels by Mercure

A very nice experience. The room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the TV was placed at a very comfortable spot (visible from bed, but not too close to disrupt sleep), and the bath tub was really nice! The location was great, very easy to get to/from the airport and train station. Also, a very nice location to have a nice long walk around all the city main views

The rooms are very spacious and location is superb. Property is a bit dated. The first room assigned was very dusty which triggered my hayfever. The second room didn’t have this problem.

It is an old property. It has been refurbished, but it remains an old property. Wafer thin connecting doors in rooms let you hear anything next doors. Showers in bathtubs very clumsy to use, clumsy partitions let water onto the floor, difficult to calibrate to the right temperature. Big rooms and bathrooms, but dark. Mirror in bathroom very dark. Very good location, near Brussels Nord. I wouldn't stay here again.

Hotel Des Colonies, Awful experience, Not recommended. The Reception staff were extremely rude, unhelpful and disinterested throughout our stay. One individual in particular became very aggressive, argumentative and intimidating when asked for the twin beds to be set up as a double bed. Even though we had booked and paid for a double bed and that is how one of the two rooms had been set up anyway. The rooms are tired and the reception area was dark and smelt stuffy and unclean. The breakfast was very poor quality and tasteless. The staff at breakfast clearly did not want to be there and did the bare minimum. There is no way I would recommend this hotel and will actively advise against using it.

I did not experience any hospitality during my stays

Good location, close the Brussels North Train Station and very walkable to a lot of cool places. My only complaint is that the wifi was really bad. Other than that I had a great stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

It was a good stay. Location was very close to many interesting locations. People at front desk answered every question I had very politely and helped me to navigate.

Great location, value for money, and convenient for a short trip. I stayed there for 3 nights and had everything that’s necessary for the trip, restaurants, shops and the metro station is next to the hotel so it’s easy to move around, like 15-20 minute walk from the city center. Would stay here again just keep it mind it’s an old hotel.

Good hotel on a budget. Visited with my family. It could have been cleaner, but vey spacious room and large bed. Breakfast buffet variety was also good. I will recommend it for trips in a lower budget
