It was clean

There is no owner on site so I had to stand in the back garden in the rain and phone a number on a small cupboard to get a code to get the key out of the cupboard. Not very convenient! The property states there was public parking nearby but this is not correct. The roads roundabout are all permit holder only and I was advised by the proprietor over the phone to park in front of a lamppost across from the property but there was no guarantee of a place being available. He could see my car and myself on CCTV which I found a bit un-nerving. I later had to park in the Asda across the road. The property was listed as providing 'Continental breakfast but this consisted of 2 packets of children's style cereal and a choice of 2 yoghurts and 2 small boxes of very unpleasant juice. When I arrived there was no bread although there was a toaster. The owner did provide this when I left a note but turned up in the evening and tried to get in with his key when I was already there and my key was in the lock. I don't know why he didn't knock first!! I could not find the microwave at first but it was inside the wardrobe (is this legal?) and I could not find any instructions. I could not find WiFi code and had to ring the proprietors to get it. It was written on a notice in the hall which was very odd as it would have been easy to write it on a piece of card or paper and leave it in the room. There was no heating when I arrived and I could not work out how to start it. I tried adjusting the dial on the wall but that didn't work. The radiators did not seem to have a numerical gauge on them. Again I phoned the owners who did not seem to know what to do. I was overheard by another resident who shouted out of his window that his heating was working and then told the owners he would sort it out for me -which he did. It turned out the radiators were turned off!! I did not know this other resident and I was not very comfortable having a complete stranger in my room!

Clean spacious room. Close to supermarkets.

Nobody at property on arrival. Car parking not ideal. Lack of teaspoons and only one dessert spoon for two people to share! I think the headboard was intended to be secured to the wall but fell off when attempting to find a socket for the bedside lamp. Fitted sheet was too small for the bed. Although the room is spacious it’s a mish mash of colours and likewise the furniture, with the lack of a mirror! Only three coat hangers in the wardrobe. This room could be much improved with a little money spent on it. Although the bathroom is spacious there is a lack of shelves and could be more towel rails. The visitors book is a disgrace. Best kept out of the way. Booked and paid for two nights but left after the first.

Replenishment of breakfast items.

The shower. Not even the staff could get WARM water to emerge. I eventually figured it out for myself, thanks to comments by other residents and my own conjecturing; but that's not how it should be. Having emerged from one showerless property, I was dying to have a shower immediately, rather than wait several days until the cogs of one's grey matter finally churned out HOW to achieve it.

The room was clean but very basic

Cold Breakfast was in the room left the day before milk provided was in the fridge. Not enough tea, sugar or coffee so bought our own. No parking facilities and street parking was for residents only.
