Sheraton Pentagon City

Overall, we liked the hotel. The lady at the front desk gave us a very warm welcome at check-in, and we were pleasantly surprised with a wonderful room on the 11th floor with a Capitol view. The room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was great, and the shuttle worked well until the final day.

In the morning, housekeeping tried to open our door several times without knocking while we were still sleeping. Later, our keys stopped working, and the front desk staff told us nobody was supposed to be in our room until we showed our reservation and received new keys. On our last day, the shuttle from Pentagon City never arrived, and we later learned it was temporarily out of service. We were told to take Uber/Lyft and submit the receipt for reimbursement. The biggest issue was that after we returned home, we discovered the hotel charged us the full reservation amount again, even though we had already paid through Booking.com. We emailed the hotel and submitted the Lyft receipt, but have not received a response so far. This duplicate charge and lack of follow-up are very disappointing.

Didn't have airport shuttle running. That was important criteria. Also, maid woke me up to clean room she thought was vacant.

Perfect ! We had a wonderful stay there. The breakfast is excellent. We’d like to thank Beatriz for her kindness every day. She’s truly thoughtful and greeted us with a smile every morning at breakfast. The room was spacious, and the shuttle services between the hotel and the metro, as well as between the hotel and the airport, make getting around Washington D.C. much easier.

Nothing.

Some things are merely cosmetic and I chose to overlook those on the first night. I arrived day 1 to see doors off hinges and fridges on the carpet, not in their area. But whatever not gonna be a pain. But the bathroom… a plastic pink mildew shower head that’s worse than an old RV. The water temperatures are reversed, if you went to take a normal shower, you would end up either freezing or with a skin burn if you adjusted mid wash based on the knob. Now let’s get to the cockroaches. One of them I found with me near the window and wasn’t able to take a photo of it before it’s death, the other one my fiancé found in the middle of the night in the bathroom. And the third I was able to take a photo of with my phone (image attached). And last but not least was paying for parking online, when the parking garage was un-gated with no cost for entry/exit and any formality for registration or towing prevention. Just drive on in, which is fine but I essentially paid for nothing. The Le Méridien, the new Hilton (across the bridge from Georgetown), they’re all pretty comparable in price, but I felt like I was in a super 8 motel here.
