JW Marriott Auckland

Loved this hotel - exceptional service, lovely pool, spa, sauna & gym. Breakfast was great, a good selection and eggs to order.

Great hotel just a few things to note: Room with two queen beds - the beds are more like a double and quite small if kids are sharing Barista coffee isn’t included with the breakfast. Spa pool could be hotter

Worst buffet breakfast I have had at a Marriot ever and I've stayed in many as well as their lower end brands. For a JW Marriot it was shocking. The food selection was poor, buffet layout makes no sense and not enough staff to replace food, plates, cups etc. They clearly focused far more on how the restaurant looks than the way it functions and the food served.

Unfortunately in my room the extractor fan in the bathroom wouldn’t turn off so the noise was a nuisance…. Apparently there was nothing they could do …. And some lights in the room wouldn’t turn off

Service is amazing, facilities are perfect and the location is ideal

The room was sensational. It was so private and quiet, exactly what I wanted for my birthday staycation. The bed was excellent, and linens were soft. I loved that the TV supported chromecasting so that I was free to practically watch anything that I wanted. It was just the most relaxing night, I slept like a log. I felt so taken care of and at ease. Staff were polite, greeted me wherever I was. I felt right at home.

The screaming children splashing around in the pool was less that satisfactory. I understand children are staying in the hotel, but it was a disturbance that surely impeded upon me and other guests. I ordered room service, which arrived at my room with speed, but I was instructed to leave my tray outside my room for collection. 12 hours later... the tray was still there, despite countless housekeeping teams in the hallway. When you're paying what you are to stay in a 5 star hotel, you expect little things like this to be taken care of. It wasn't just my room either, room service trays littered the hall. The shower pressure was quite low and controlling the lights was a bit difficult, but really clutching at straws here to find things I didn't like. It was an excellent stay.

Very centrally located, easy access by walking to mayor attractions

Our room hallway was always dirty, spilled coffee by elevators and cups left on tables for days. Our room cleaning was bad especially the bathroom. The breakfast area was not well staffed , buffet items were cold and any requests for specialty coffees took forever.

Incredible room with lots of space and wonderful large bathtub

View was of buildings under construction with workers looking into the windows. The curtains didn't close all the way so there was some light that leaked through during the night.
