Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center

First, there was cookies on the floor by the bed when I enter the room first day. not big deal. Now here is the story, the worst experiences in my life of all. I was escorted out of my room like a criminal. I was there for my daughter's National Volleyball Tournament. My husband took my daughter to convention at 6:30, and my son and I were to leave at 7:30am. at 7:24, time is clicking. I was changing and naked when the security lady with tattoo knocked my door. "who is it?" I asked. "SECURITY!" she said. I assumed some crime happened before we check in, and I expected she had key to my room. therefore, I repeatedly screaming, " don't open the door!" while I tried to put on ANY clothes I can find in my suitcase. When ready, I opened the door and asked why she was here and what was going on. She told me, " you will have to come downstairs with me right now" I asked what is the matter. she said, " they didn't tell me exactly, but there is an issue with your credit card.". I am like.. ok. I went down with her, with my son. and she took me to front desk. I asked the front desk, what was the matter. He said, you don't have a credit card on file. I said, "yes I do", That is how you gave me the keys to my room. he checked the system, quizzed me on my last 4 digit. and said, everything was fine. no issue. sorry. then, he gave me a key to go back to my room. I took the key and rush back to my room and grab my bag and headed to the tournament. at night, when everyone was dead tired, I was busy getting food for the team, and now guess what? ALL their keys are not working. The only one key works was with me. Come one Sheraton! I am a Hyatt Globalist and that just reminded me which brand we all should choose for real hospitality. What you did to me and my son was absolutely rude. unprofessional. inconsiderate. When was the last time you handed anyone a room key without taking their credit card or security deposit? IF, my card was bad or got issue, you could have call my room or send in note under my door. Do you need to escort me out of my room at 7:24am? Everyone at the hotel saw how there were 500 people at the lobby at 6:30 , all trying to get to convention. Do you think I was supposed to be in my room still? and if so, did you think having your mistake fixed was the priority of my stay?

We checked in at 2 and was told we had a specialty room he said King. But I ordered the queen with sofa. We were finally given key after 5pm check in was 4. I was in a handicap room? Why I asked the front desk manager and he was completely rude and not personal as if I was wrong? I feel like I was robbed of the $1300 as I missed dinner with family we were meeting in town since I had no where to get read and change. Then this morning I ask for a manager don’t get one and the gentleman made me also feel like I was a problem. My shower was in a handicap bathroom with water completely covering the floor. Poor design and dangerous because I slipped and fell. I honestly feel a full refund is appropriate given the horrible service by front desk manager and agents. Also given keys to shut me up and now waited 20 more minutes for it to be cleaned. Walk in now the door knocking and it’s maintenance because the A/C wasn’t working. I still couldn’t get ready in time for my evening plans

The Sheraton Kansas City offers spacious and clean rooms that are properly serviced each day, providing a comfortable stay for guests. The hotel facilities are well maintained and feel secure, which adds to the overall convenience. However, the front desk staff could be more welcoming, as they often appear indifferent and lack the willingness to assist. Additionally, the food quality falls below expectations, especially considering the price, making dining on-site less appealing.

Toilet was.clogged , other room sink was backing up. Pillows were too soft

What a great place! The staff was friendly and helpful; location was ideal; bed was extremely comfortable; room was surprisingly quiet given its location. The only downside was that the carpets in our room had just been cleaned (literally they were finishing up as we were walking into our room) so they were wet and the room wreaked of cleaning chemicals. We requested a box fan which they promptly delivered and we were able to open the window vent to help draw out the fumes. Because the hotel was sold out, they couldn’t relocate us.

Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and loved having a Starbucks on site. Staff were all helpful and great to us.

Hotel is dated and felt oddly cold and empty. Very very odd layout felt like a maze trying to get to the pool or the parking garage. Both took you down what seemed like weird back alley hallways. Elevators needed a deep cleaning.

Pool is definitely not heated, false advertising! Complained to the front desk twice. Cleaners came through our room twice and did not fill the body wash. No body soap option either. Restaurant on site is terrible. Dry bread and undercooked pasta

Friendly and helpful service, clean rooms, great beds, quiet, walkable area with lots to do and the streetcar is nearby to take you places as well. Loved it!

Loved it. Was there for a Granddaughter at Children’s Mercy and felt at home.
