Great location. Inside it is very dark and a bit sad when outside it is sunny. Overall it is a pity not to take advantage of the sea side and have a terrace setup to enjoy a drink or coffee.

The Boston Marriott Long Wharf is an excellent 4-star hotel. It is not a 5-star hotel, nor does it advertise itself to be – i.e. you will not find robes or wine glasses in your rooms and yes, you have to fill your own water jug at the water station. However, it is a most excellent 4-star hotel. Rooms are clean and updated, bathrooms have nice marble counters and updated fixtures, and there is a mini-fridge in the room. The location is top-notch. The hotel is right on the water, but in the city/downtown area, a stones-throw from the Aquarium and the subway station, which is efficient and can get you anywhere, including the airport. The location is a runner’s dream being able to run either direction and see several neighborhoods and sights along the way. Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market and the Freedom Trail are steps away. The front desk staff were most helpful assisting us with both an early check-in and late check-out where able. There is a Starbucks downstairs and a good buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant at a reasonable cost. Kids 12 and under are half price ($15) – we sent our kids there to fuel up for the day while we worked out, and grabbed coffee and a protein bar on our way out. The pool is sizable enough for kids to play in and the pool-deck is amazing – the pool deck faces the water. It’s too bad there is no hot tub – it looks like there is a perfect spot for one and perhaps there used to be one there. The pool area was a great place to come back to late afternoon and reset before heading out for dinner, whether it be grabbing something quick and casual at Quincy Market or a nicer sit-down dinner. The gym is probably one of the best hotel gyms I have ever been to. It is large, spacious and clean with a selection of free weights, kettlebells, weighted balls, cardio machines, floor mats and other weighted equipment. The water machine offers a selection of flavored water, sparkling and still. There are plain water and ice stations on every floor of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and although it is a 4-star hotel, I am giving it 5 stars in my rating.

The location cannot be beat. This was our night before cruise stay, the hop on hop off bus is right outside the hotel. Short walk to the marketplace. So glad we booked here instead of by the cruise port.
