Would love the African princess to automatic doors in the restaurant area.

Location, perfect. Staff amazing. Small constructive criticism a little more entertainment would be good as the hotel is very quiet.

Poor drainage led to flooded bathroom. Hot water should be turned on prior to guest arrivals. Bed sheets and towels are showing signs of wear. Need to exchange for better quality.

The African Princess hotel was absolutely wonderful, all the staff there were so very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are gorgeous as is the hotel. We stayed in block 2, our room was cleaned by Lamin, who was very friendly, thoughtful and helpful! He did a wonderful job cleaning our room and was a pleasure! Helping us with the TV and getting anything we needed for the room, which he cleaned until it was spotless!

Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach, with wonderful staff. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break, with creature comforts but still a flavour of Africa. The grounds were pristinely kept, all the common spaces were very clean, the pools were cleaned every morning. The beach staff was very attentive and wai staff came out to check if we ever wanted drinks. The beach is cleaned every day. Their local residents dogs are good company . It’s wonderful to see the locals on the beach also enjoying it. Fabulous sea waves for a frolic. Great little craft market opposite – do go across and support the locals.. There are little things that I would love to see the hotel do – 1: stop use of all plastic straws which are so bad for the environment. 2: Swap to wall mounted shampoo and shower gel dispensers rather than using small single use bottles. 3: See if you can source reusable water bottles rather than the single use plastic ones. 4: Support the voluntary beach lifeguards – we didn’t realise that they are entirely funded through donations from tourists. I felt much safer having them watching me in the sea and I think hotels should pay something towards trying to support them. I have minor improvement feedback – we didn’t have our beach towels replaced every day and had to ask for this. There’s no easy place to do this other than with housekeeping although they were very prompt when we called. I would definitely stay again if we visited the Gambia.

Great hotel, all staff superb and attentive, very clean, highly recommended. Visited The Gambia many times, by far the best hotel.

The place was nice...maybe the best of the country. An overview on the beach, good hygiene and the personal was really kind.
