Location is good. Close to bus stops and walking distance to the kyoto train station.

Two full floors, big TV, good shower

Traditional tatami mat was a good experience

Communication was very good but this has been mentioned before but obviously no-one takes any notice but the directions need updating/better clarification. It ended up that the lost had to come and meet me and guide me to the apartment. The bathroom was fine - hot water but the towels are thin and small. The area is accessible to transport and places of interest if you are happy to walk for a little bit.

While I knew it was a Japanese style accommodation, providing only one futon and a thin one at that made sleeping pretty uncomfortable. WARNING - while I admire the attempt to be clean- using bleach to clean the inside of the kettle is a huge NO-NO!! I could not even enjoy a cup of tea at this place, try as I might to get rid of the disgusting taste of bleach out of the kettle. The owners risks serious ramifications if someone is highly allergic to bleach and suffers a serious reaction, I would think. I felt that as a client I was merely provided the bare minimum and there was no real care or concern for anything more than providing the basics, but the price does not reflect this and needs to be adjusted downwards.
