"Disappointing"

We are Marriott - Bonvoy members and have stayed at many of their resorts, this one is disappointing. The two-bedroom suite is sad, with no view or features (feels like a low-end motel) and a view of the dumpster. The spa was under construction and the pool is so crowded currently that there wasn't space available to enjoy; I assume too many Resorts Pass sales. We are Platinum members are enjoy the majority of our Bonvoy stays, but not this one. The bright side is good service and food.

"Mothers Day Brunch 2025"

The Mothers Day Buffet was outstanding! Plenty of choices, great seafood, eggs Benedict, fruit and cheese station, and beautiful desserts. The staff checked on every detail and handled every request with a smile. My mother is in a wheel chair and we were able to get her to a table no problem. Thank you for a lovely time.

"Wonderful Experience at the Marriott"

Had the best stay at the Marriott! The place is absolutely beautiful and everything was just perfect—but what really made it special was Luz, the manager. She was so warm and kind, and made everyone in our group feel extra welcome. You can really tell she cares about the guests and goes out of her way to make things smooth and enjoyable. Luz, thank you so much for all your help—you truly made our stay unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back!

"Can’t wait to go back!!"

This is an extraordinary local. When I arrived it was about 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning, but the clerk received me well. I received a swift check-in and precise directions to my suite. The in-room dining was tasty. I had the enchiladas and a cheese hamburger. Rita’s Kitchen was also the most amazing brunch. Take tipping money and please ask for the crunchy French toast.

"What a place to stay!"

Amazing hotel. Rooms were spacious and gorgeous. Every staff member was smiling and helpful. The food was not typical hotel food. It was so much morez!The grounds were meticulously always beautiful. I would totally stay again! Mummy Mountain was something I didn't expect. Right by the mountain and felt like I was in the wild wild west. A plus. Thanks so much!

"Beautiful property and great service"

We were so pleased with the attentive service we had at all the venues we used. From the front desk, bell station, Rita’s Cantina and the pool, I haven’t experienced the pleasantness at a hotel in quite some time. Our room was clean and worked perfectly. We will be back.

"Beautiful property; disappointed in room"

There are a lot of positives about this resort, and I'll start with those. The grounds and property are absolutely beautiful and extremely well-kept. Location and views are fabulous. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Although we didn't have any meals at the resort restaurants, we did enjoy a snack and cocktails at Rita's and both the service and quality of food/drinks was excellent. I ordered room service for breakfast, and it was fine, but nothing special. Our disappointment was mostly about the room itself, which I would describe as average for a nice hotel, but not of the quality I expected at this resort. We've stayed at two other similar resorts in the area in the past (the Phoenician and Kierland Resort), and the room we had here at the JW Marriott Camelback wasn't even close to being as nice as those at the other resorts. I look for a plush room with comfortable seating and extra amenities so that I can relax and read while my husband plays golf, and this room did not provide that aesthetic. The bed was comfortable, but average. There was a table with two chairs in the room, but they were not comfortable, and there was one other small rattan-like chair in the room. The flooring was a vinyl made to look like wood, and it seemed cheap. The bathroom was the most dated part of the room, and while it was clean, it was small and ordinary; I've seen much much nicer bathrooms in many less expensive hotels I've stayed in. I realize that the price we paid to stay here has much to do with its desirable location and the time of year we went, but I felt it was in no way worth the cost, and I didn't feel like I had the short luxury vacation I was looking forward to. For those looking to take advantage of some of the resort's other amenities, it might be worth it. But, I wish we had chosen a different resort and probably won't return to this one in the future.

"Excellent"

We've been here several times. The hotel is historic. Parts of it date before World War II. It's still a wonderful place to go in winter. It's terribly expensive, but parking is free, the restaurants and pool are great, and the landscaping and birdlife are fabulous as are views of the mountains. You stay in casitas, and some are not well located so beware. Our room had two private balconies, was large and had a great bathroom. But it showed wear in places and the carpet had many stains. The carpet should not be in a good hotel. We would stay here again next winter if we go back to Phoenix.

"Spectacular Resort great for family and meetings"

From the moment we arrived we knew this was a special place. The resort is situated between 2 stunning mountains and the views are spectacular. The grounds are immaculate and the gardens showcase the palms, cacti and other dessert plants plus flowers are everywhere! The staff went out of their way to be professional and friendly throughout our stay. The restaurants were delicious. We enjoyed Rita’s outdoor seating near the gardens in the evening with pleasant live music Saturday night. The top-rated tennis staff were available for lessons. The gym had plenty of equipment. We rented bikes and hiked Camelback Mountain. It was a memorable long weekend!
