This is a lovely hotel, very modern and very clean and the staff are great, in particular Anna and Gabriella in the restaurant at breakfast. To be fair you would think Gabriella was the hotel manager, she is so lovely, speaks impeccable English, is so welcoming and makes breakfast a joy. Every time you see Gabriella she pays so much interest in all the guests and helps out with any query you have, whether about the hotel or places to visit. She is an absolute credit to the Vision hotel and we hope that the owners realise that. We didn’t see any other managers in all the time we were there, so not sure who the others were. We stayed for 10 nights mid May on a package with Jet 2. The whole hotel is immaculately clean. Our room was cleaned to perfection daily, thank you. The gardens are tended to by two gentlemen who pay utmost attention to the pool area, flower beds, sun loungers and the lawn area daily, thank you. Breakfast is great and caters for everyone with a selection of hot food (omelettes and fried eggs can be ordered fresh and cooked to your liking), cold fruit, pastries, yoghurt, nuts and seeds etc and a variety of cold and hot drinks available too. The Reception staff are ok… but not amazing. When we arrived we were not offered a welcome drink, nor did anyone offer to take us or our luggage to our room, or show us our room, this is very usual in a 4 star hotel, so it wasn’t very welcoming. They weren’t very helpful or knowledgable re taxis into town or to the station or info re buses. We just gave them a number that the tourist information gave us and they booked that for us. It was 20 euros to the station and the driver turned up on time. The reception staff on check in said it would be 20 to 30 euros to Peschira and 30 to 40 euros to the station and we were surprised they didn’t actually know or even have a secured price with a local reliable firm. What could the hotel do better… 1. Have a courtesy bus into Peschira… it’s a 25 min walk or 40 mins to the station by the lake. You wouldn’t want to walk the main road way. We have stayed at so many hotels in Italy and also other countries where courtesy buses are provided, some free, some at a small charge (which we would be happy to pay). I think this would improve the hotel occupancy rates too as these were very low. They could run this on the hour to Peschira (and 15 minutes past back to the hotel) at say 8, 9 and 10am and then in an afternoon from say 3pm till 10pm for people wanting to get the boats to other towns on the lake; or a train to say Venice or Verona in the morning then back in an afternoon, then for dinner out in the evening. The hotel really is far out and when it’s raining (it was torrential 3 days) or extremely hot ( it was 4 days) and walking 25 minutes can be challenging and exhausting. Also when you have been out in the day visiting places and it’s hot you want to be able to get on the bus back, get changed and then go out again, you don’t want to walk back to the hotel, get changed and then walk all the way back in again. The choice of bars / restaurants close to the hotel are very limited. This suggestion of a hotel shuttle bus has been raised on a review previously but clearly no action has been taken to date. 2. The swimming pool isn’t heated. It’s really really cold in May. This may not be the case in June to August. The hotel should really think about this as it looks absolutely gorgeous and so inviting, lbut hardly anyone used it as it was so so cold. 3. On arrival you are provided with a bottle of water in the room, this isn’t replenished. Again in 4 star hotels this is usually a standard. 4. The bar area.. or lack of one… it’s merged into the restaurant and isn’t really a bar.. it’s not welcoming and no one uses it.. so it lacks atmosphere. The income from drinks must be so low, to be fair the same from food. The hotel should consider making this more inviting, offering a happy hour or a reason for guests to use it. The tables in the bar and also restaurant are just empty at night and it’s such a shame as it’s a lovely location and they are not making the most of this or advertising it. They don’t even try and encourage non residents in to boost footfall. We used the camp site cafe opposite (Pepe and Zucchero) , it has amazing views, great drinks, a lovely lunch menu, great atmosphere, their pool is also amazing and used by residents as it’s heated. We can’t recommend that cafe enough. If the hotel bar or terrace was used more by residents or locals we would have used it. Prices should be reviewed by the hotel also. The Vision hotel has such great things to offer, if the owners/ management consider the points above then there would be no question in rating this as 5 stars and we would definitely visit again. Restaurant recommendations… Close by: Osteria la spine (risotto) 7 min walk from hotel Trattoria al Combattente is fab, right next door to the hotel and great local food (you need to book). We loved being able to look into the kitchen and watch the chefs cook the food. Pepe and zuccero at the camp site opposite the hotel, serves food till 4 and is open till 9pm has the best view in Peschira over the lake in our opinion (Far better than from the bars even in the town) with great chill out music. We went there for lunch and evening drinks our last 3 nights, if only we had discovered this sooner. The beach bar at the bottom of the hill 100 yards from the hotel is great for lunch or early evening drinks.. fab music too (classics from the 80s 90s and 00s) In the town the bars are all fine and much of a muchness, those in the lovely restored harbour area where the small boats are moored around the heritage walls are great for people watching and enjoying the lovely buildings and views. Also Venice and Verona are both accessible by train, the bus no 26 is the same bus that goes in the other direction to Sirmione. It takes an hour to Verona and it’s slow and we got the train back. Couldn’t face the return journey. They are v cheap though, but so are the trains. If you get the chance and haven’t been, do visit Venice and Verona both are stunning in different ways. Hope you find this review useful, lake Garda really is lovely and so is the Vision hotel.. we just hope they sort out the points above, if they did we would have awarded 5 stars, no question.

Le Wifi vraiment trop faible

Gute Lage, ruhig, großer Parkplatz, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal bei Rezeption, Frühstück und Bar. Gute Auswahl beim Frühstück. Fairer Preise in der Bar. Leider war das Wetter zu schlecht, dass wir die Außenbereiche bewerten können.

Beautiful hotel, great views of the lake. Staff were lovely - so friendly and helpful

Nice location at the beachfront. Good buffer breakfast. Restaurant also offers a good dinner (tasty but limited selection).
