Rochester Airport Marriott

My input might be isolated but the Marriott conference room for my weekend there but not for the # of complaints the attendees had while trying to learn in the extremely hot and uncomfortable meeting room for half the weekend. In fairness, my hotel room was very comfortable for my needs. However, by end of my second night, I started seeing odd traffic and entries on my electronic devices/records. 1. The room charge discount for a conference attendee per night ($40x2) was omitted on the final bill. 2. It appears I got doubled charged for one drink at the bar (email w 2 receipts). 3. Worst of all, I woke up the day of Sunday departure to find my personal computer had been hacked with a stranger listed as a new user. Luckily I have an IT person on-call but what about those who don't have such a tech on the weekends?! How much will these people be scammed?

I was surprised about this hotel. I usually stay in Marriot properties and have reviewed a ton of them on here. My stay was from 08/15/2025 – 08/17/2025 in Room 604. I had booked in advance, and it ended up being expensive for what we got. I only say that as I have other properties that I have stayed at to compare it to. There is a lot of traffic into and around this hotel so make sure to be careful coming in and out on Fetzner road. We checked in without a problem and the desk clerk was very helpful. Upon entering the room, we noticed a musty damp smell which I was surprised about it because we were on the 6th floor? Anyway, we went with it as we had a lot of stuff to do so we didn’t spend much time in the room. The bathroom was clean enough but the stopper for switching to the shower was stuck and took a lot of effort to get out. The molding on the door was pealing due to moisture and the faucet leaked on the main sink basin. There wasn’t any microwave, and it was obvious the rooms hadn’t been updated in a while. The TV was fine and everything else in room worked. The biggest thing for me wasn’t being able to sleep both nights. Things felt damp and the bed wasn’t made correctly. The pillows were tough to get used to. It's surprising, usually we don't have a problem with Marriot. There wasn’t any noise which was nice because that is an issue with a lot of places you stay. I didn’t use the pool or any other facilities or the onsite restaurant so I can’t comment on them. Years ago, this property hosted huge Friday happy hours and has been there for a long time. It was called the Airport Marriot because it was the closest at the time when it was built. It’s been in Rochester since the 80’s at least. It’s located in Greece which is a suburb that has fallen on some rough times with the demise of Kodak and manufacturing in the area. This hotel does need a 2-million-dollar upgrade because of the size of it. I know that is incredibly hard with the expense of materials and labor, but it would be a good idea as this facility is very busy and there is a lot of traffic. I always interact with the staff as much as possible to take the temperature of the culture there. There is also a rude customer base in some cases that I could see. I saw guests being rude to the staff a few times which isn’t cool. There are people and staff working there and trying but with the service industry in a crunch and s shrinking workforce it’s amazing they can stay afloat. I hope things can improve for them.

Fantastic hotel from a picky traveler! Clean room, gym and restaurant. Very friendly staff. Excellent service! Front desk extremely knowledgeable and accommodating!

It's a nice hotel, fairly comfortable. Friendly people and staff.

We had a problem with the toilet overflowing and flooding the area. For some reason this was not resolved quickly. In fact, I had to make several calls to the front desk, then go down there. We were left to wait for maintenance to come in at 10am. I went back to the desk and asked for a plunger. After being told again that maintenance would not be there until 10am, I said that I wanted a plunger immediately. Eventually, two men came to the room who knew no English and had no idea what I was saying. It wasn't clear that they knew to get a plunger. Two other men came to our room who were able to unplug the toilet.

The hotel was out of towels for two days

To be honest when we first checked in. The Woman was unfriendly, nose was turned up. Which cause me to try to check out. However as we continued our staff all the other Mangers and Staff were extremely professional, friendly, helpful, cheerful with my children. Because of that I extended my stay. Overall our visit was amazing

The bartender Daniel was excellent, though he was working both bar and food service alone 2 nights we visited (Friday & Sat night) he was so pleasant and efficient and deserves to be commented.

It need better trash cans near by or in the room
