San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk

Great location and view. The hotel was on the Riverwalk, close to the mall, and the Alamo to help when needed to go out and explore with the kids. I want to give a HUGE shout out to Lupe and Ayleen (hopefully that’s the correct name) from the concierge lounge. While traveling with kids, it’s hard to keep them calm but these two ladies showed patience and gave us tips on what to see or visit. I’m never the one to complain, but the reason for 4 stars is this. The room was a bit dusty and you can smell it. The second reason was the pool area. Though it was nice with a play room the AC was at full blast so it didn’t matter if the pool was heated. We were all freezing

Marriotts are almost always nice but the staff here made it super enjoyable. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. The bartender, Roffe, was a real pleasure. Helpful, friendly and engaging. Very much enjoying our stay here.

Great drinks with Roffe and his service was awesome!!! Very happy to chat with and very courteous and knew his whiskey!!!

Greatest bartender ever!! Give Roffe a raise! Now! Awesome service and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back. The cleanliness is awesome. Great selection of drinks. Noise level is great! Rooms are spotless and nice. The value is right on target. Locations is great and close to everything. Atmosphere is great!

I couldn't sleep on that bed and pillow. Bar prices are simply outrageous.

Fabulous location, stylish decor, restaurant and coffee shop are excellent, very clean, friendly/helpful staff, ample room size, lighting in rooms (warm-hued bulbs!). We asked for adjacent rooms and they gave us adjoining rooms, which was even better!

In-room coffee service!!! I greatly dislike the paper coffee cups!! To pay top dollar and have everything be top notch, and then have only paper cups feels cheap — and is not sustainable. And, the service had only 2 packets of creamer in it — which is only enough for a single cup. So in order for both me and mom to have a single serving of coffee each, I had to ask for extra supplies. Why so chintzy? Just supply the rooms with enough for the number of people in the party and the length of the stay. Assume two cups of coffee per person per day. And please give us ceramic mugs! I also would have liked a microwave in our room, but that’s not so critical.

Mixed reviews. Currently can’t sleep since the street traffic is nothing I have ever experienced. The loud cars, the bass in the stereos and the motor cycles are CRAZY!! I even have earbuds in with white noise and can hear so much. One car must have stopped at light and I could feel his bass in my chest (9th floor). So if bad sleeper good luck. The personal we experienced were extremely nice. Oh, I think a drag race right now as I type this. Ugh! We had water dripping in the light in bathroom and we were moved to a bigger room and given a nice credit for dinner. Wow, the bass in the cars below. I can’t get over it. The rooms could use some updating but not too bad. The location is good for the riverwalk but the noise is unbearable to me. I do think the possibility of loud street traffic could affect many hotels in downtown but I don’t know. The bass is NON STOP!!! Maybe the cars are doing laps. Car at light revving engine. I hate to give reviews like this, but I want to be honest. No idea when I will fall asleep.

Had a wonderful experience with Belinda in the coffee shop! She was so seeet and gave us some great local recommendations.

Belinda was the absolute best! It’s nice to meet a friendly face and even better when the person’s energy matches. I was a daily visitor in the cafe during my say at the Marriott on the Riverwalk and when things got chaotic with a mishap in my room, Belinda was a sweetheart in making my day. I would return just to make sure Belinda gets all the visits!
