Parking lot spaces at a angle makes it hard to park beds and pillows r hard

Didn't like the fact that when we checked in on Tuesday around 8 pm we were not told that next day that section where our room was the power would be turned off from aprox. 9:30 am to 4 pm to fix power grid. We gambled until about 3:30 am and ere just getting up to find out that there was no power and wife couldn't blow her hair etc. zif we knew we would have prepared differently

This was probably the worst check-in experience that I have had. The person was very cold and really did not say a thing. She would not tell me where the room was and acted like I was bothering her by asking. The room was really nearly a block away (with a connecting walkway to the Casino), so I needed some directions.

Our room faced the alley behind the little strip mall in front of the hotel. We were rudely awakened the last morning by loud construction equipment right outside our window.

Nice place to stay.

The rooms were very clean and quiet for a great price.

This is our second time staying at the Shooting Star in Mahnonmen. Both times we booked through Expedia and both times we had problems with them trying to charge us again for the stay. This time, the man checking us in didn't know the steps and the lady that came over to help him was rude to us about it. The room we were given was SMELLY and dirty. Like the vent was off the wall and fabric softener sheets were stuffed in it. And the AC did not work. When we called, the repairman came within moments. And got it started again. But it did not continue to work. We went back to the desk for another room. This time this room was cleaner. And the air conditioner moderately worked. I need to make note, we do not choose this hotel for the casino-never even went in it. It is the closest place to our family we are visiting. But we will not stay at the Shooting Star again. And will not recommend it to anyone. The lady at check in really had a problem with the discounts we were given through expedia. And whatever you do, do not check in on the kiosk because the system will charge you again and you will have to fight to get your money refunded.

Good place for the value. I had read some of the negative reviews, and even tried to cancel because if it, but my wife and I found the room spacious and clean. The rooms were private and quiet. We didn't gamble so the face that we were not close to the casino was fine. I would stay there again.
