Let's start with the poor customer service, and the willingness to not help

I’ll start by saying we love Marriott hotels. We are platinum elite members. We have stayed many, many nights with Marriott and it’s our preferred hotel chain to stay at. We have also stayed at this particular location before, two years ago. We would have rated it 3-4 stars back then. Not anymore. This location lacks care, quality and upkeep. I’ll start with our room. Half of the electrical outlets and all of the USB ports do not work. Bathroom wallpaper coming off the walls, toilet paper holder was reattached to the wall at one point but the original hardware is still left exposed. Shower doors do not fully close or stay closed. A/C unit in room works some of the time and makes loud banging and popping noises in the middle of the night (yay). Went to get ice on the 6th floor. Couldn’t use the ice bucket because it was filthy so we had our own ziploc bags to use. Ice machine did not work and no sign posted saying it was out of order. So we went to the 7th floor, where that ice machine also didn’t work and also no posted sign. Went back to our room to call front desk to find out if any ice machine on property works and found out the phone in our room also did not work. Went to the front desk and asked them and they said they weren’t sure which machines worked. They did then offer to bring ice to our room. Laundry room only one machine worked and the door to the laundry was broken. The restaurant is bare bones. Wait staff was great. Menu is unappealing. A restaurant named Southern chop and zero steaks on the menu. The closest you’ll get is a burger or pork chop. No kids menu. They need a new chef here. We will not stay here again. We love Huntsville but when we come back we will choose a location that maintains their property, their rooms and actually cares about the guest experience.

The front desk staff not friendly. Paid by 3rd party and not told anything about a city tax charge. Was going to use the pool but the bottom was filthy on the deeper end. Looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. Very disappointed at the service for the price.

The pool area and the outside deck area was nicely landscaped, but the outdoor furniture and seating was horrid. We could not find a single place to sit and relax. We had to sit in the convention hall area! Marriot should be ashamed!!!
