Hotel Nexus; BW Signature Collection

Getting in to lot was hard to find.

Parking was a little tight.

I'm surprised that this old motel qualifies to be branded a Best Western. This motel looks like they did a quick sprucing up to rebrand it, but it is not "retro", just old. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. My first clue should've been the "escort" hanging out by the front door when I arrived. She was back in the evening when I came back from sightseeing. The walls are so thin you can hear everything from the rooms next door, and the picture on the TV was so bad it made everything look like an Andy Warhol lithograph. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly. The Saffron Grill has excellent Indian food, although it is a little pricey. Free parking is a plus.

You are close enough to the University of Washington that you save people money and give a comfortable place to stay while going through terrifying and life changing procedures. Its a little dated simple but clean and relaxing when you are worried about your loved ones. You can rest and know you are ok to be there for them when they will need you the most. Thank You

Extras pricing for breakfast isn't needed. It's just cold cereal Just offer coffee and donut or banana. The extra money for parking is a but much but for the area it insures your car is noticed by the staff. I just wish they had a better restaurant there Saffron is way over priced and the food its a single note. Sorry.

About a week ago, there was a shooting in the pull up drive of the hotel just outside of the lobby. Staff informed me that the shooter was a hotel guest. Still at large. My daughter got very sick from food that I gave her from the mini fridge as the fridge was not cold at all in this particular room. The linens have huge holes and tears in them. Many of the guests are very rude. The most disturbing experience though was the behavior of the manager. It was truly appalling and caused tremendous stress for my whole family. I was utterly shocked and I quote the staff that they were speechless as well. Skip Hotel Nexus. Plenty of other hotels to choose from in N Seattle or Seattle.

Room was clean, bed pretty comfortable.

My room was next to the stairwell, so lots of noise anytime anyone used the stairs (which happened starting at 4:30 am). Room a bit chilly and heater somewhat noisy, so a tradeoff between being chilly or hearing the heater go on and off all night. Grab and Go breakfast was OK, not great.

Fairly clean. Good “fast-break” breakfast that is chosen by small menu and handed to you in a bag for cooking. At first I was leery of this, but soon realized I could heat at my leisure to fit my schedule.

The rooms were outdated. Windows (at least on the first floor) need to be redone in double pain for security and noise reduction. Security guard was a little over zealous. Overheard him wanting to “break in the door” to help a young person who was distraught and when they were talking to him already. I really got concerned when the maintenance man went to get a special tool to open the latch lock - and the security guard still wanted to kick in the door telling the other guest of the room who was outside with him, he could pay for the damages. The guest outside had to calm Him down to tell him to please wait for the maintenance man to return. He seemed a bit to eager to escalate the situation in my opinion.
