Sofia Apartments in Escalante, San Jose Center

Very eclectic apartment, quite spacious with all the equipment you need, bedrooms are good and beds are comfy. I booked very last minute and our host was quick to reply in the chat and even arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport, late at night.

The couch was quite uncomfortable.

The location was handy for restaurants and we felt safe and secure The train horn was very very loud and stressed out one member of our family who is sensitive to noise The floors were so dirty. We had taken off our shoes to be respectful of the floors but soon our bare feet were black! The art and pottery and reading material was fantastic

The apartment is in a safe area and really spacious with lots of natural light and has absolutely everything you might need, in the kitchen, and also the washing facilities are excellent (washing machine and dryer, plus a separate rack) There is light and the rooms are big, good internet, Netflix etc. . Plenty of storage room. Gas stove. A restaurant downstairs and a coffee shop just nearby where you get 10% discount. Admin is taken care of from Turkey, so time differences are to be taken into account. Staff at the Mediterranean restaurant downstairs (you use their entrance) are most helpful and would bring up the food when we wanted that. Everything that needed to be taken care of was felt with duly and speedily. Ended up staying longer than planned and was happy with the apartment. Lots of places to have a drink in the area with nice terraces and gardens.

The area is safe but also quite pricey. Lots of fancy restaurants and the same goes for the supermarkets. If you have a car you might want to get your groceries somewhere else, when you don't it was a bit problematic. But the restaurant downstairs has a nice dish of the day with fruit juice which I warmly recommend. While the building itself is tranquil and you do not hear much noice from the restaurant, the railway is close by and there is a lot of noice from the trains and the crossing place. So earplugs might be good

This is a fully furnished property in one of the best locations in the city, especially if you are looking for great food. Not to mention, the restaurant downstairs named Sofia Restaurante Mediterraneo (someone told me that it is also owned by the same person) has 5-star food. The room has everything from shampoo to artistically hung paintings against the walls, from appliances to Roku. All essential needs are walking distance. Very clean, safe and large property; easy check in and out; promptly responding management; everything I was looking for was there. I would stay here once more when I re-visit San José. Great job!

The host was very helpful with the prompt communication. All check-in and check-out info was perfect. We found ourselves in a top floor apartment with view and it was loaded with amenities as described. The location of the flat was within walking distance of all our needs. The neighborhood is full of restaurants. But conveniently Restaurant Sofia at the building entrance was very goo and the offered us 10 % discount. We also used another convenient bakery nearby called Pandeli for delicious breakfast. We will be back.
