Sofia Apartments in Escalante, San Jose Center

Clean good location.

No ac, no cable tv

Amazing space located super convenient in Barrio Escalante. The check in and attentive staff were superb. The apartments are wonderfully decorated with art and personal touches.

Reallu great experience, the host was great and the location is amazing. My only conpaint is tge running trains are a bit loud, but San Jose is a noisy place no matter where you stay so no stars lost. Ill try to stay here again soon.

I stayed in the deluxe apartment here. It was fully stocked with every household item I could have possibly needed. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen has lots of fancy equipment for making coffee and tea. It’s perfect.

liked location, staff. Luis the handyman was very fast to respond if we needed something. The owner also very nice and interesting to communicate with .The bonus we had Mario the driver that took us to many adventures. Many restaurants around.

I arrived early and no one answered my texts to Whatsapp for awhile, to be fair, I was earlier than what I told them. But after about 20 minutes or so Luis did respond and got me inside.

I didn't like when I arrived everything seemed locked up and abandoned and being in a foreign counrty this FREAKED ME OUT. But once Luis got me the keys it was all good.

Very big apartment with everything in it. Especially liked the washing and dryer. And airconditioning throughout the house. Furthermore its located in a very nice street with a lotttt of restaurants and bars. Very nice. Did not have any disturbance of trains

The airconditioning made a lot of noise in the master bedroom. We mentioned this to the landlord and he immediately had someone have a look. Was better the second night, but we still turned the AC off in the night due to the noice. Also, the apartment could use a good deep cleaning, there were a lot of cobwebs in the corner, especially in the bathroom. Floor was sticky (walk with slippers)

The coffee

Excellent location, fully self contained apartment with semi-eclectic style had everything you need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Price very reasonable for the apartment and location in the ritziest suburb in San Jose, Escalante!

The main issue was definitely cleanliness. Floors were filthy (my brand new flip flops turned black on the soles!), toilet, fridge and microwave etc were not very clean either. Had to clean them myself as I trust my own cleaning far more than anyone else. Bit noisy with sound of train horns and also the pubs and bars very close. Wifi generally fast in day but at night could be very slow.
