I LOVED Sofia Apts. I had a late flight, so Ned, the owner, coordinated an airport pickup for me, and the property manager met me at the door. It was more than I anticipated. It had a nice clean room, a second bedroom, the kitchen had all the appliances and all the utensils you would need. The location is walking distance to great restaurants and shops. The decor and artwork are fantastic! I love all of it.

The bathroom wasn't clean, so I cleaned it.

The place was filthy… the floor was extremely dirty, bathroom was not so bad… there was dust everywhere and the floor full of hairs… I even found a couple of “cut nails” at the night table… it was disgusting…

The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. A lovely lady knocked on the door with a fresh bag of coffee which was very much welcomed. It was well equipt. The owner Ned is very friendly and easy to deal with.

It is in a great location. We felt safe. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances. The washer and dryer were large and worked well.

This property did not meet our standards. There were no windows except for a block window in the entry. The furniture was quite old. Their Internet lacked the security needed to connect to our work VPN. We used this property during the day, but we felt it necessary to book and stay at a different property at night.

We liked the large space, the kitchen facilities, the washing machine and the art on the walls. The bed was comfortable and the staff friendly.

As others have mentioned, the train is nearby and activity starts early. But mostly we were disappointed with the ventilation in the separate toilet and shower rooms, which smelled like sewer gas. Hopefully the plumbing venting can be fixed to prevent this in the future.

Safe and quiet. Excellent location - lots of restaurants and cafes. Can easily walk to center. Local manager Luis friendly and helpful in every way. Washer and dryer. Good base in San Jose to explore other parts of Costa Rica.

There are 4 apartments. We stayed in 2C which has no windows to the outside (other flats have windows). 2C needs a deep cleaning.
