Ramada by Wyndham Topeka Downtown Hotel & Convention Center

It was a great price and a very beautiful hotel. The breakfast was very good!

The place was a bit worn down. The beds were just okay and we weren't provided with an ice bucket. Just a plastic bag. Also the vending machine was out of water.

I was traveling across I 70 and was looking for just a decent place to sleep. This hotel was right off the interstate and had decent reviews. As soon as I walked in I was puzzled. The front desk was strange. The staff had box fans for some air flow. Hmmmm. I noticed the atrium was huge and they said that breakfast would be there in the morning. I got in the elevator and it looked pretty abused. Buttons cracked, floor stained, creaky. Got off on my floor and the hallway was similar. Got to my room and it was in better, but still very old condition (although it was clean) and it was weird. Very big room with a queen bed to one side and just a beg empty space. No overhead light but a floor lamp that looked like someone brought it from home and, out of nowhere, a full sized refrigerator....for no reason? The HVAC system worked well but was very loud. Bathroom was clean but old and strange toilet that looked like a public toilet (no tank, straight post and flushing handle). Bed was an barely passable spring mattress. Sleep was "better than nothing". Breakfast was as expected food wise. Strange, again. to be set out in the middle of this HUGE atrium. The whole place seems like it USED to be nice....it is not now. I guess the price at $80 was OK.....but I do not recommend. Again, all the staff were nice and efficient....just the facility is worn out and in need of MAJOR renovations.

The room was onto the indoor pool These rooms should be kept for families with children and not given to elderly people The pool is open until 9.00pm Children are not supervised by parents and excited children are extremely noisy After a long journey it was not what we were not expecting. The room was very dark with a lack of light and the door opened out onto the pool area

The price of the room is good. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel needs work. The elevators weren't working and the hotel tower where most of the rooms are located smells bad. The fixtures in the bathroom are old and the ceiling paint was peeling.

I did not like any of the experience.

The room that I was given had a temperature of 76 degrees. I called the front desk and they acted as if it were no big deal and moved me to the room right next door to the original. I moved my things to this room, and the temperature was the same as the first one... I called the front desk again to complain about the issue, and they sent up a maintenance man to fix the issue. The maintenance man looked at the ac and determined that he couldn't fix it, so he apologized as they sent me to a third room.
