Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Nags Head Oceanfront

My family and I recently vacationed at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Nags Head Oceanfront, 6/25 – 6/26. Our original plans were to stay two nights, but we decided as a family to leave. I must say that the proximity to the beach is awesome. You can walk out the back door and be on the beach. This was perfect for us. Unfortunately, this is where my accolades end. I immediately sprayed Lysol on everything I encountered upon entering the room because of the surface appearance. After sleeping in the bed one night, I realized I would not be able to sleep in it another night. Both beds made a strange crunching sound as soon as we sat on them. I guess this should have been an indication that something was wrong (no, we are not large). As I inspected the room, I found hair in the miniature refrigerator and stains on the covers. The sheets also had some marks. There were various other issues that I have notated in the attached pictures. I tried to overlook the unpleasantness because we were only scheduled to stay two nights. We ended up checking out 16 hours early because I could not sleep another night in that bed. Even after completely spraying with Lysol, we all slept in long sleeves and pants. The room just gave off vibes of uncleanliness. So, you are probably wondering why we stayed. We stayed because of the awesome location. However, the room's condition was unbearable. If cleanliness is important to you, this hotel may not meet your standards. I have attached some pictures. It needs complete renovation because it is outdated. This may have been one of the problems.

Can’t see the beach from most floors

The location was perfect! Great indoor pool and hot tub, our own boardwalk beach access and outdoor shower/feet cleaning station, beach front bar and grill, beach umbrella and beach chair rental available, and very comfortable beds and pillows. A quick walk across the beach road and you can be at American Pie Pizzeria and Creamery (best pizza and homemade ice cream) and Miller’s Restaurant with snow crab legs and steaks.

We booked this hotel because my husband is a veteran and we got a good deal, however there were plenty of things advertised that were very false. No continental breakfast, which was advertised there was then you got redirected to its now $7 for guests who stay here and then we tried to eat there and they wanted to charge you $10 for adults and $5 for kids no matter the age. For the price you pay, breakfast being included should be a must. The Tiki Hut had wonderful food however the waitress we had was rude and the owner made a big deal over google saying they give military discount, he did honor it but he copped and attitude saying “i’d love to see where it says we offer that”. The pool house is disgustingly hot, the pool is filled with sand (which is understandable since we’re by the beach) but the last day we stayed there was literal seaweed floating in the water. The hotel has an odor when you walk in & there’s only 1 washer and dryer unfortunately. Our room was okay other than the fact the bathroom is a slight upgrade from an airplane bathroom and there is mold growing on the curtains above the air conditioner. Plus sides to this hotel is there is beach access and feet washes on the walk way to the beach, the cleaning people change your sheets daily and clean your shower & floors so the sand isn’t so bad. The beds aren’t comfortable, they also squeak but they’re doable when you’re exhausted. Overall experience for us is a 5.5/10, as for my family we will not return to this hotel. Save your money on this overpriced hotel and book an airbnb.

This is a nice place. The rooms are a little dated, but it's still very comfortable and clean with amazing views of the ocean. It's also very quiet here. The people working here are very friendly and it's in an excellent location. They do have a nice pool, not really long enough to do laps, but nice to cool off. They also have beach access and a restaurant on site, so that's also very helpful. If you're in Kill Devil Hills, this is a great place to stay, right on the beach, close to restaurants, and it's quiet and clean. I would definitely stay here again. This area gets nuts in the summer, so the rates are reflective of that everywhere you go.

Great location and on the beach. Has a restaurant and outdoor bar (we did not use either) Free coffee all day was great. The pool and hot tub were nice.

Very expensive for a mediocre Hotel. I do understand it’s beachfront and it was the Middle of the summer.

Great rooms overall great hotel conveniently located. We have been staying there at least twice a year for over twelve years
