DoubleTree by Hilton Springfield

First time stay at this property for business in the area. Disappointed as a Diamond Member and soon to be lifetime Diamond Member that this property does not have a cable service provider that offers a CBS affiliate. This option was certainly missed while I stayed on property for 4 nights. My options for streaming from my I-pad were also limited due to a slow connection. Bathroom includes a Bluetooth connection vanity mirror, but no access to one of the major tv broadcast outlets or decent bandwidth. However, the room was equipped with a refrigerator which is nice for leftovers, but Doubletrees have no in room microwaves. The guest microwave is in the lobby. Access to rooms via elevator requires a key card which is nice. The staff at the on property restaurant was super helpful on the morning I went down for breakfast due to being ill and worked from my room instead of going into the office. I very much appreciated them getting me tea, honey, lemon, hot water and breakfast items to take back to my room. Parking is plentiful and a conference center is next door with public parking. There are many nearby dining options and Houlihan’s is listed as the hotel dining option with room service availability. A Walmart is across the street. Opportunities for cleaning improvement include the bathroom vent which needs to be added to a master sanitation schedule for regular cleaning.

Breakfast was great, good variety and excellent service. Nice bathroom in our room. Cookies were a nice touch.

Hotel pool was freezing cold. I was planning to swim with my grandson for a couple hours but it was too cold. It should be clear on the website it is an unheated pool.

Stay was ok but didn’t have a microwave in my room and dogs barking in the middle of the night that really disturbed my sleep. I understand the hotel is pet friendly but dogs should not be barking after midnight it’s totally rude to guests that are trying to sleep

I booked this hotel as it’s supposed to be the “nicest” in Springfield. Don’t be fooled. It’s pricey and not worth the money. I wanted to find a nice place so my daughter, who goes to school there, and I could have a little bit of a relaxing spring break. It’s currently being renovated, but nowhere on their website or when you walk in does it inform you of this. It’s not until 8am EVERY SINGLE DAY, when you hear hammering and a constant sawing sound ricocheting throughout the entire room, that you become well aware that it’s under renovation. This sound went on and on all day long. We were on the 7th floor and construction was going on many floors below us. We could still hear it as if it was directly above us. I brought it up to the front desk and the lady working popped off, “Quiet hours end at 8am.” You’ve got to be kidding me! I replied with, “No where on the website does it say under construction/renovations. Transparency is important and the least you all could’ve done was let me know this was occurring and I would’ve booked elsewhere.” I also went on to ask if quiet hours end at 8am if it would be okay for me to run screaming through the hotel and all would be okay? She asked the general manager to assist me to which she came out. She acknowledged the hidden message that wasn’t being told to customers about the construction and also acknowledged it was because the people above her knew it would keep people from booking their hotel. She refunded one of our night’s stay, which was fine, but the three nights we stayed there were not ideal. Spend your money elsewhere. A great hotel is right next door. Additionally, there aren’t microwaves in the rooms. You have a fridge, but have to go to the lobby to heat food. Also, I tried to use the phone to call the front desk and it didn’t work. This was a “renovated” room. Do better! We won’t be back.

Hotel is in great condition and looks like the rooms were recently renovated. Our bed was hard as a rock and that made sleeping really difficult. Won't book this hotel again.

Room was pretty dated for the pricepoint

The staff were great but the room they had us in the Heater was running all nite and sounded like a motorcycle running. When I complained to the front desk in the morning they were dismissive and stated there wasnt anything they could do because I booked thru Hotels.com

Staff was so friendly & professional! Glad we stayed at this location.
