Our stay way superb, location very Convient for Newcastle, tullymore forest and several other key venues- Castlewellan country park Hotel was homely with fabulous food and very friendly attentive staff - from start to finish, the grounds and walk were beautiful and obviously loved

We stayed in a hotel as we were in Northern Ireland to visit family there. The hotel was stupendous in fact one of the best we have stayed in, the position, the food, the service received from the staff were all exemplary and I would recommend anyone to choose this hotel. The only regret We had that we didn’t have a car, luckily we did have family to chauffeur us.

We had the most lovely stay, with a comfortable and gorgeous room that had a stunning view which hadn’t even been requested, lovely food and fantastic staff. Thank you!

The grounds and location

Pleasant staff at check-in. The hotel grounds are lovely (make sure you walk the river trails). Reception area is oldly worldy with wood paneling and large fireplace. Our room was just ok, it had what we needed but must have originally been what looked like servants quarters (small room at the top of the hotel over looking the carpark one window and the top of the building the other ) but did the job. Went to the restaurant for dinner and the meal was fantastic. Over all nice family run hotel but try and get a room with a view because the view is amazing from the gardens.

Lovely ambience and room very comfortable. Staff and Service friendly. Had main meal in the evening...traditional meat and vege..lacking in imagination and creativity for the price. My kippers were super at breakfast though juice not great and the medly of fresh fruit disappointing.. so little at the base of the bowl . could have eaten three times the amount served. No pastries offered...no pancakes, compote nothing out of the ordinary that I couldn't do better at home.. For a hotel that presents itself as a cut above, the food offering is tired.

Lovely traditionally decorated (Manor House) hotel with a friendly, family run feel. Very quiet with a small bar area and restaurant. The grounds are lovely and Newcastle town within walking distance. Views are stunning. Ideal for couples looking for a quiet time, away from hustle and bustle of town or busy commercial hotel.

It was brilliant. The gardens and views are amazing. Had a great time.
