Apollo Hotel Rotorua

Air conditioning didn’t work one of a electric blanket was broken... It was freezing night.

Rotorua is a beautiful place with plenty to do.would highly recommend

We had a great time in Rotorua! The hotel does need a little work done; our toilet leaked, but it had a helpful staff and laundry available.

Was expecting much more for 4*+ . Really run down old building and room , needs updating And things fixing. Pool and spa unclean so couldn't use. Comfortable for our stay but wouldn't return unfortunately. Have stayed in same rated motels in the area and had a far more pleasant experience. Definitely overpriced. Great location however and rooms overlook the pool area. Pleasant staff.

Easy access good parking comfortable room. Difficult to find on returning at night from the city centre

Nice Stay, Management very helpful and provide great service, with the cold snap the heating was great, extra blankets and pillows were easily available

We enjoyed staying at Apollo. The area is a bit lower quality overall but with everything in close proximity, compared especially to Auckland, it is not a problem. The host was very pleasant and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The room had an excellent kitchen. Very few have hotplates these days. It was a nice surprise. The lounge room was conveniently laid out for watching the TV but also with the dining table in the middle of the lounge it was very pleasant to enjoy breakfast together. So many hotels/motels have the table up against a wall which is often quite cramped. The bathroom has some inconveniences. The door opens into the middle of the room but opens back against the door which helps. There is something happening to the vanity as it is sloping down. Maybe someone sat on it. It looks disconcerting. The pressure in the shower is very low but did the job and there was plenty of hot water. The rooms have jetted tubs which echo around the building into the night. It did not stop me sleeping but I was aware of it because it was around midnight and I could still hear it. There is a DVD player in the room. I could not figure out how to use it. Maybe there were instructions in the room book but I gave up. Some simple instructions by the DVD player would be helpful. It is a good place to stay if you want a comfortable mid-priced hotel. There is no restaurant on site but with the cooking facilities it evens out the benefits. I would stay there again.

great place to stay .. even my dad was impressed ,which was grand,and value for ya money just wouldve been good if we stayed a bit longer

Mold in grout in shower, paint peeling off ceiling where moisture appears to be the reason, stained carpet, air conditioner doesn't work, pool area not clean and pool was stained and missing tile. Overall huge disappointment in comparison to our many other hotel experiences in New Zealand.

Great location, close to the venues we were attending. Within easy walking distance of shops, service station etc. Only one disappointment with the room: on the last night saw a mouse in our room. I advised reception when we checked out the next morning. Other than that, the room and the hotel were great.
