Apollo Hotel Rotorua

One of the bedside lamps had no bulb and a power socket had a dodgy switch. I only stayed one night but it was comfortable and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

It was so much better than we expected. And the gentlemen running it were so kind and friendly. A very nice place to stay, especially given the reasonable pricing! We highly recommend it :)

The hotel is in need of an upgrade. The sliding door was open, the windows shook, the beds rather stiff, no A/C so rather humid, the bathroom was scratched and chipped and a shelf in the shower was unstable. I overestimated the quality of the room when booking and checked out within ten minutes of checking in. The receptionists offered upgrades but the quality of rooms all looked the same. Plus the entire hotel was empty. They claimed they were all booked (yet still offering upgrades?) but I've never been somewhere so empty, even in remote places there's always SOMEONE or another car in the parking lot. It seemed sketchy.

Large room with plenty of parking. There is a shared laundry which is great when you have lots of clothes that could do with a wash on a long holiday. The elevator was a bit loud and was being used late at night and in the early morning. Overall a great place to stay.
