The Leta Santa Barbara Goleta, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Santa Barbara (it’s about a 12 minute drive to SB). This property has more of a retro, mid-century feel, kind of like a motel (it’s 1-2 stories with rooms exiting to the outdoors) but has been renovated (it reminds me of the places in Palm Springs). Good restaurant on site (we had breakfast there one day). Small vinyl listening room in the lobby if you’re into that :). Theres also a good Thai restaurant (and 1-2 coffee shops) across the street to the west. Not a luxury property but room was fine (although we did hear the cleaning carts rolling on the concrete floor in the morning…it would be nice if they found a quieter way of doing that). Parking is $20/night but FYI there is regular street parking surrounding the property.

Clean & the esthetic was nice.

Check in was an hour late because our room wasn’t ready therefore we had to cancel other reservations we had for other activities elsewhere, that was so upsetting. Upstairs neighbors were so loud, lots of running around-maybe they had kids. Refrigerator did not cool. Should’ve kept our original reservations we had next door at the Best Western Plus they are always great & cheaper but we thought we’d give this new one a try. Never had an issue with a Hilton Hotel other than with this one. Wanted to love it but just couldn’t.

Clean, beautiful landscaped. All the amenities you could want.

Bugs or little flowers on the surface of the water in the pool. No electrical outlets by the pool. No food and drink order takers by the pool.

The Good: clean, cute and tasteful decor. The Bad: no soundproofing, charging $20/night for parking despite having a vast, open parking lot. There was no fan in the bathroom. Room had a stale smell. Could hear our neighbors watching TV, using toilet, etc. we were awoken several times during the night by very loud yelling. While checking out, I asked the front desk employee if he knew what had been going on in the middle of the night with all the screaming. Before I could even finish my sentence he quickly said “I wasn’t here. I’ve been off for 3 days”. No “sorry that you had noise issues” or even acknowledging what I was telling him. My husband and I left disappointed in our stay at the Leta and both felt it was more motel than hotel for what we paid. Our stay was over $800 for 2 nights after tax and parking.

The walls all around you are thin . You can hear your neighbors clearly coughing, talking etc . You can also hear when other guests turn their showers on . It’s ridiculous. No central air , just those motel box climate boxes . The parking lots at night are extremely dark . Not safe and a real liability if or when someone falls due to lack of lights . Ladies be careful. Front doors don’t shield from outside noise , you hear people rolling g their luggage as if the door was open . It has a cute “ boutique “ look but it’s just an extremely overpriced glorified motel . I will never come here gain .

Very nice room, close in parking, too.

The parking area was ponding from the rain, could use some better drainage.
