The Verve Boston Natick, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The lobby and the 4th floor gathering spaces were very nice for our group of 10. We actually had a great weekend for Wellesley graduation but the hotel did little to that end.

The room had food crumbs in the drawer when we first arrived and it took 2 phone calls and over 24 hours for it to be corrected despite reporting it immediately and the room being serviced during the day. It’s hard times in the service industry in Boston I guess. This hotel felt a little like flying does these days -you paid for all the things many hotels hand out. We paid over 300 a night for 3 nights for a room. For 960 we got two double beds- no fridge, no microwave, no view or rooftop lounge. Keurig in the room but only decaf on the last day and then the machine broke. Water bottle in your room? Be careful! Read the fine print…. it is only for diamond members 3.00 for everyone else. Having bought a case of waters at Costco, the mark up seems a little ridiculous. It turns out there was coffee available in the restaurant downstairs but you have to hear that by word of mouth so only learned it on the 2nd day. Then the machine broke on the 3rd morning and coffee in the lobby not open at 7. The hotel has wild decorations but does none of the extras that make you feel taken care of. There is no breakfast, no warm cookie, nothing that made this feel like it was anything other than any other chain hotel …and in fact less. I stopped in the store and bought a Coke Zero and a bag of SunChips - each was 5.00. I get the model, I understand they are there to make money, it just seems the 300/night rate would allow for a little cash on hand to make the experience a little more homey.

I love the decor and everyone is nice

There was no hot water and we were never informed about it

Breakfast was high-quality and delicious.

Staff are very friendly and the hotel location is awesome

Hot water was good on a first night but poor on the two nights after.
