Starling Cloud, Aberystwyth by Marston’s Inns

Came back to my room one afternoon and found the door had not been closed after cleaning. Also the spoons had not been washed.

Great base for Aberystwyth. Was rather cramped for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers) but was fine. The biggest issue was the bathroom which was really dated. It really quickly streamed up (room4) and the condensation on the mirror ran everywhere. It's not changed since we last stayed which worries me that it's going to start getting really tired soon.

Excellent hotel

Clean room and very comfortable. Not much storage in the room but ok for short visits. Staff were very accommodating and provided great service in the pub attached.

Simply quiet, comfy ,easy access to amenities will return

Housekeeping was brilliant but minor things let the hotel down slightly. Namely one reading light not working,only one light working in the bathroom and tv remote not working after the first night. All things that could have been reported but as we were only there for three nights and extremely busy during the day these things were relatively unimportant and didn’t impact on our enjoyment in the slightest. Would definitely stay there again.

Convenient budget ideal for overnight stay

All we can say it was excellent.

Overall a lovely property. Checkin was easy and the room was clean and had all the essentials. It was however very hot in the room and quite difficult to cool to a comfortable temperature. But overall a great stay.

We have stayed here many times and it’s always to our liking. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff on check in were friendly. We only have one little complaint - when booking online I chose the option to pay on arrival at the hotel, but 24 hours before our booking, the hotel took the money off my card. I know that time was the cut off for free cancellation, but I feel they should have waited until I arrived before taking the payment. I know they had my card details and I knew I would have to pay for one night even if I didn’t show up, but felt it was a bit cheeky taking it before I’d had chance to arrive and pay in person.
