"Not what we expected from a Holiday Inn."

The location

We were put on the third floor of a separate building from the main building, where we had to climb 14 steps since they had no elevator from the second floor to the third. We are both elderly and requested a room on the first floor, but they said they had no vacancies for the number of days we were staying. Plus the front desk staff weren’t very friendly, didn’t even attempt to accommodate us in any way. Plus we did not get to enjoy any of the amenities in the main building, because who wants to go back out of their room from a separate building in the cold. Also there was no microwave in the room. We had to request one. The only good staffer we met volunteered to help us get our luggage up the stairs and into our room was a gentleman named Forrest. He went out of his way to make us comfortable. Including bringing a microwave to our room. Big kudos to him. We ended up checking out a day early. We were also not happy with our billing. Since we ended up staying 3 nights instead of 4. Our billing consisted of 2 nights at $229, and 1 night at $324 (not including amenity fees and taxes). We didn’t understand why we were being charged almost $100 more for the last night which was a Thursday night.
