Oldlands Farm

We stayed in the “Stables Suite” at Oldlands Farm which was conveniently close to Gatwick Airport. Our room was large and kind of quirky which is to be expected when staying at a 500 year old property. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with information about the area. There is a Pub/Indian Restaurant located across the street however there is not much else nearby.

The staff were great, very approachable and communication was great. Would definitely recommend and will be back anytime we fly from Gatwick! The rooms are like self contained pods and couldn’t hear anyone else even though it was fully booked.

Easy to find. Lovely room. Very helpful staff. Bus number 3 leaves every 30 minutes to South Terminal. Parking available at the hotel. 10 out of 10 from me.

Host Saima was just lovely. Really friendly and polite, happy to answer all and any questions, upgraded our room too which was fabulous. Room was beautiful, bed was comfortable and all really clean. Plenty of hot drinks available.

Room was small but very quiet and clean. Best feature was probably proximity to Gatwick (less than 2 miles). If you don't have a car, I would recommend the #3 bus that goes from Gatwick to a stop called Greyhound right in front of the farm. Uber and taxis were not convenient and charge over 20 pounds for a 2 mile trip. Only thing that would have made stay better would have been on-site breakfast. We walked to a cafe less than a mile away on Gatwick road for a great breakfast. Hosts were very gracious and helpful. We were allowed late checkout. Would definitely recommend, especially for flight from Gatwick!

The property is 19th century farmhouse. We stayed in the Hepburn room, which was pink and white and decorated with Audrey Hepburn photos. The room was small, with little room to squeeze into the bed from one side. Cobwebs, and dust everywhere let us know it hadn't been tended to for awile and a longish carpet didn't leave me with a sanitary feel. We were told that the room hadn't been entered again since being cleaned for Covid? We loved that it was close to Gatwick, the reception lady was very nice and overall, it was ok for the one night we used it. Bring a roll of toilet paper with you!
