Red Lion Hotel Harrisburg Hershey

This hotel is always our go to! The facilities are abundant with so many activities for adult and children. The rooms are always clean, the staff is very attentive to the guests needs. Absolutely the best experience we have ever had at any hotel! Book with Randy ya'll he is absolutely the best!

Everything was FABULOUS. NOT A DANG THING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.

Before you read my review, look at my previous travel history I’ve traveled around the world and stayed in more hotels, then I can count, this one by far tops them all with excellence in staff .I had a great stay here, and much of that was due to the exceptional staff. Jon was especially helpful when a small issue came up with my reservation. He addressed it immediately, handled everything professionally, and the recommendations he made about the room and the stay were completely accurate. As a Marriott Titanium member who usually stays exclusively at Marriott properties, I have experienced many hotels and service teams over the years. This staff truly stood out. The level of attentiveness and willingness to help was better than what I typically encounter, even at some of the best properties. Credit also goes to management for clearly maintaining a strong team culture and training staff who genuinely care about the guest experience. While the property itself may be slightly dated, it is extremely clean and well kept, and the outstanding service more than makes up for it. I’d also like to recognize Heather and Lourie for their kindness and professionalism. Everyone I interacted with contributed to making the stay a very positive experience. I would like to add that by the end of my stay I figured out why everything was so spot on, I met the general manager Randall Stuart on the property on a Sunday never in any of my stays anywhere have I met a General Manager on a property on a Sunday so kudos to him and now I know why his staff is so spot on. Let me mention my observation he wasn’t there to micromanage his team, but the show them Support and that he wouldn’t ask anyone to do anything he wouldn’t do himself. I learned that in my career and my military background. So wherever Randall was trained, they did a spectacular job If I was opening up a hotel, this General Manager and his staff would be the only staff to make me invest in a hotel. Thank you for a great stay everyone.

The Red Lion,an older hotel, is neat and clean. The staff pleasant. The room a comfortable size. The mattress was soft, the towels small, and the toilet paper cheap. While I noted the quality of these items, this would not keep me from staying there again. Breakfast was available for an additional $12.99. I had not stayed in a hotel recently, and I assumed the cost was now typical for that quality of room. And it may well be (I didn't pick the hotel. I was there for a conference). However the next night I stayed in a different hotel, in a different city. I paid less and got much better quality.

Manager and staff were excellent, great accommodations, will stay there again

The only reason I liked it was because I took part in chess tournament that was happening in the hotel itself. It was therefore convenient.

The property is in very poor condition and clearly overdue for a full renovation. Carpets and furniture are extremely worn and look like they have not been replaced for many years. Cleanliness is also a concern — the windows and walls were visibly dirty, and the air conditioning units appear not to have been cleaned in a long time. The rooms are very dark, and many of the conference rooms have no natural daylight at all, which makes them feel like basement spaces. Overall, the hotel feels neglected, poorly maintained, and far below what you would expect for a property in this category for this price.

I come here every year for Business, I love this hotel, very Customer Service or oriented . Every time I come , they make me feel like family, we always come come in a day before so that I can enjoy the awesome amenities.

This may have been a really nice hotel in it's day. I usually use the TripAdvisor ranking to decide which hotel in an area will be visited. I'm my opinion, this WAS NOT the best hotel in Harrisburg. I do have to say that the management did listen to me when we stated we couldn't stay...and made it right. This hotel would be fine at a lower price range (because you're getting what you pay for).
