They went above and beyond to accommodate us and our needs for the month we were there

The only thing I didn't like is they were doing renovations so the pool was closed down for the first week we were there

Everything was good. Staff was quick to address issues. (Restocked pool towels, kept the breakfast stocked.). The pool was clean. My room was clean.

The hallways were super cold. The room did get to a comfortable temperature, but you could feel the cold up to about 6" off the floor.

I am writing this to warn any future travelers. During my stay from November 4th to November 7th, 2025, I was severely bitten by bedbugs. While the hotel is old, it initially appeared clean. However, by the end of my stay, I was covered in bites that caused significant pain, intense itching, and physical discomfort. I reported this to the front desk immediately upon checking out. I was told someone would "look into it," but no immediate action or apology was offered. The situation became worse when I attempted to resolve the charges. I booked through Priceline, and when they reached out to the hotel for a refund due to these uninhabitable conditions, the hotel management refused to approve the refund, citing their "non-refundable" policy. A policy should not apply when a guest's health and safety are compromised by a pest infestation. I have photos of the bites. Because the hotel has refused to make this right, I am now escalating this matter to: Choice Hotels Corporate Offices The Ingham County Health Department This is not the standard of a 3-star hotel. Avoid this property until they can prove they have professionally treated the infestation and learned how to treat their guests with basic respect.

Location and its proximity to downtown.

In the 3 nights I stayed there, customer service was very poor, receptionist was not following the reservation, she issues rooms base on what’s available. Housekeeping never came to clean the room even after multiple request, there were no clean towels. Breakfast is from 7-9A on weekends but they replenish their breakfast menu once food runs out, to make it worse the dining hall is leaking and super cold..kitchen staff weren’t friendly at all and unresponsive to requests.

The location

Very Dirty and smelly and the fire alarm went off during the night and staff acted like it was no big deal.

The location was convenient, the room was clean when I arrived, and the lady at the check-in counter was just as sweet as could be and as helpful as a Girl Scout.

This location is owned by an Indian family, and, unfortunately, in my experience (and this one is no different), they do not understand, or do not care, what Westerner’s expect from a hotel experience. These locations rapidly become rundown as maintenance and repairs are neglected, and amenities go by the wayside. Vending machines go the way of the dodo bird and in goes a “store“ that is poorly stocked and way overpriced. Cheap and skimpy are the name of the game, and this was quite evident in the fact that they refuse to run the heat in the breakfast area or the hallways to get there, with temperatures somewhere in the upper 40s or lower 50s, a very uncomfortable experience while trying to enjoy breakfast. I say enjoy breakfast a little loosely, as the breakfast choices were a bit Spartan and definitely not of the greatest quality. The owners must’ve thought it was a Michelin star rated location as they post guards at the entryway to make sure that you don’t have the audacity of taking your plate of food back to your room to enjoy in the comfort of a warmer environment. Heaven forfend one of your party may need to get ready to go somewhere and you want to bring them a banana or yogurt. The pint sized Soup Nazi is going to make sure that doesn’t happen, Jack! Then there’s the pool area. I’m guessing they’re not aware that pools need to have the chemicals checked, as there was an abundance of green algae growing on the steps and the water was slightly cloudy, but at least the heat worked. I can’t say that for the hot tub, as it was out of commission and I doubt it will ever work again. The sauna was a nice touch, however, being completely capable of bringing your body temperature back to something a little more reasonable after breakfast. The door locks were hit or miss. It took quite a few tries to convince the mechanism to release the lock so that you could get in the room, and that’s if the key card worked at all.
