"Convenient to downtown but the hotel needs major updates."

The location was good.

The hotel is old and many things need to be updated. The mattress on the bed was in awful condition and the restaurant had a damp unpleasant smell upon entry.

The location near the river was nice. The top floor restaurant had nice views of the river. The breakfast up there was really good. The king bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is old and could truly use an update.

Booked through Booking.com, and I paid for breakfast through Booking.com, however when I checked in I was told I did not have breakfast and I had to explain and prove I did have breakfast, and only then did I get the 'cards'. The next trip was the same argument, however at that time I had not printed the statement from Booking.com, so I did not have the proof on hand so I was denied my breakfast 'cards' so I ate somewhere else. NOT Happy about this, If I want something I Pay for it, Then I should expect it....not be denied it simply because I don't have proof, I Ask Were Is the Communication between the Hotel and the other entities that book their rooms??????? from an Unhappy customer, most likely will not stay at a Holiday inn anytime soon......

"Amazing staff and hotel! Best choice when visiting Charleston"

We were on Girls Spring Break and it was the Perfect Hotel to stay at. We arrived and our room was not ready. But the front desk staff informed us that the hotel bus would take us to downtown Charleston and pick us up!! We drove from Michigan. Beds were like new.
