Food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful

Broken radiator in my room made it so hot i felt quite ill. Repaired on day 2. Shower was in bath and difficult for me to get in safely as an older person.

I don’t usually leave bad comments or feedback, but I feel I need to in this case. Unfortunately, the place was very unhygienic. Our room was really filthy and it seemed as though it hadn’t been hoovered for weeks. I’ve been using Booking.com for the last 14 years, and this is the first time I’ve encountered a place in such poor condition. The room also had a strong, unpleasant smell. When we were leaving, the lady at the hall way ignored us until we walked past and I said good morning. At the top of the stairs there was a bundle of washing left out, which was a hazard for guests trying to pass. Overall, the property feels very worn out and in need of renovation.

The team were very friendly and helpful. Great location by the river.

Beer was ok

Place needs a thorough makeover. Chipped paint, knackered carpets bath that i couldn't get in ( cos of roof angle ), shower i couldn't stand up in ( beam over it.- I'm 6ft ). And then there's a roof beam, running diagonally across the centre of the room

In spite of the annoying barrage of automated emails, this turned out to be a lovely stay in a traditional pub in an outstanding location by the river. Staff were friendly (once you could find them and get their attention) and there was a good choice of food and drink downstairs.

From the time of booking I received a large number of repetitive automated emails - at least one per day - asking for useless things like "online check in". I tried this but abandoned it when I found I was being asked to share my personal and financial details with some Dutch management company. The whole thing is completely unnecessary (check in at the pub was as normal) and seems to be a blatant data grab for marketing purposes, which I hate.

What a lovely surprise! A beautiful spot by the river & the very pretty Bickleigh bridge. Large comfy bed, big shower, great view Breakfast was good. Very helpful, friendly staff
