Ramada by Wyndham Barstow

The photos of the room in the Internet and the area surrounding look really nice but when we got there, it was not at all what I expected rooms were very worn out carpet you know sticky, and the hot water was on the wrong side instead of it being on the hot side, it was on the cold side And I would like to request my money back actually.

Quiet and friendly staff

BEWARE!! RAMADA WILL NOT HONOR PAYMENT MADE THROUGH HOTELS.COM. I had to give ONE star for all categories because Ramada Inn did not actually honor my reservation and payment made through Hotels.com. The front desk clerk said that I had to pay for the room again and request a refund from Hotels.com. After telling me they didn’t accept credit card and I had to pay with cash or debit, I ended up staying at a different hotel. Horrible service and experience at 11pm.

The room was a good size with 2 queen beds and they were comfortable.

When we checked in I specifically requested a quiet room away from the trains. She kept saying the room was quiet and we she gave us a room NEXT TO the train tracks. They were literally outside our window near the pool. Trains went in both directions ALL Night. I called a few times and she kept saying 'SORRY" and said she could move us, but I had originally requested a quiet room and we had driven ALL DAY and did not want to move. There was also a homeless man that walked by our window during the time we were there. IT was not a comfortable evening. The NEW Smart television did not work with the old remote. Maintenance came and showed us how to move the channels. Before, the tv wanted to go back to "DEfault system". UGH !!!!!

Staff were friendly and accommodating but unfortunately this property is quite run down. The room was stuffy and it needed a good scrub. Loud diesel trains run throughout the night and the train drivers stay at the hotel meaning they are up and loudly stomping around the property and slamming doors around 12-2 AM, at shift change. The spa is covered up and the pool area looks tired. The alarm clock in the room went off twice during the night and early morning, waking us all up. However the breakfast in the morning was quite nice, offering scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, yoghurt, cereal, coffee and juice. Wouldn't Recommend unless you can sleep through a hurricane.
