"Excellent"

The building is old, as are the bathroom, carpets and electrical connections. However, the staff is courteous and pleasant and the price was right.

"Barman Daniel was amazing."

Barman Daniel was excellent. Introduced us to Costa Rican delicacy and made our visit feel special. Room was very nice but the pool is cold.

"Good"

I found Daniel the bartender to be very pleasant and entertaining. He made us all kinds of drinks and the food was good at the bar. He was fun to be around. Also, Christian that work the morning shift in restaurant was very helpful in suggesting places to visit. The staff in general was pleasant. But, I am annoyed that this hotel is part of Bonvoy group. I consider those hotel to be at a certain level. This hotel lobby was very nice, but when entering the room it is a different story. The rooms are damp and smell of mold. I think the carpets need to be removed. Also, the tub leaks and toilet was not working well. The lighting in room is dim. Housekeeping cleaned my room but never replaced my towels and calling front desk was a mess, no answer. I had to go down to the pool for towels. The pool need to be tended to often. Accidents can happen around the pool if it is not taken care of properly. But for the 2hours by the pool, I didnt see one worker there, and it was slippery around the pool. Our best time is hanging out with Daniel the bartender.

"Interesting Stay"

I will start off by saying that this was an interesting stay for me. I stayed a total of 6 days. Hotel is located in the city atmosphere of San Jose and you can walk to a lot of stores and restaurants. You won’t be bothered at anytime. Single female and I felt safe. Check-in was seamless and quick. I visited the bar in the hotel every night and Daniel was a delight: he was helpful with suggestions n what to see or visit. He was so amazing with our group that came in the next day. Every night we visited the bar and we were def entertained. If you stay def make it a must stop for you. Now for a review on the hotel/ rooms. The rooms were a little dated. The tub looked liked it has not been cleaned in weeks. Figured it was wear and tear. There was an incident that had me questioning my security of the hotel.l along with my safety. The day after I checked in. There is a knock at my door. I replied “ Yes ne second” In The time it took for me to walk from my bed to the door. It was being unlocked. I was very surprised by this. Turns out it was a gentleman looking to show the room. He asked me, “ did you just check in?” I said, “ no I checked in the day before .” He apologized and left. About hour and a half later another knock at my door. I did end up answering and it was a lady looking to show my room again. To me that was disconcerting. I mentioned it to the front desk. They said they would look into it. I spoke to Alan the front desk manager he was not aware of of complaint. But he was able to provide me information letting me know it was their hospitality staff and it was a miscommunication. So before this information was given I wa beyond wary. I have never experienced this traveling. The staff was helpful.

"Wonderful Stay in San Jose"

We had a wonderful time while visiting the Delta Hotel by Marriott in San Jose. The Tropical Bistro restaurant is beautifully decorated and offers delicious meals throughout the day. From familiar favorites like omelets and waffles to more exotic options like cas juice and grenadillas, the breakfast buffet truly has something for everyone in the family. The hotel bar, La Palma, is also wonderful. It has been recently renovated and has a nice, modern atmosphere. We visited La Palma on two occasions during our stay and had the pleasure to be served by Daniel, a fantastic bartender who is just as knowledgeable about local spirits as he is about Costa Rica. We found him to be one of the absolute friendliest people we met in a country that was full of warm, welcoming people. Thank you Daniel and the entire staff for an unforgettable first (but not last!) trip to Costa Rica.

"Dated, dirty - not up to Bonvoy standards"

I’m really surprised this hotel is part of the Bonvoy group - I expected a certain level of quality that is totally absent at Delta Aurola. The rooms are so dated, the carpets are dirty (not just stains, but lack of vacuuming), the bathtub drain didn’t work well, the gym was tiny, cramped, with multiple machines out of order… it was just gross all around. They have signs saying they’re “remodeling,” I guess to excuse the appearance, but there were no signs I could tell of any remodeling happening during the 3 weeknights I spent over two visits at the beginning and end of my trip. The only area of the hotel that is clean and pleasant is the lobby. Besides the poor facilities, we were really not impressed with the service attention to detail. We paid extra to have 2 additional people in the room, yet still the rooms only had 2 towels. We paid for a “junior suite with sofa bed,” thinking there would in fact be a pull out bed. During our first visit, there was a pull out bed but it had no linens and took multiple calls to get housekeeping help. During our second visit, there was just an old gross couch (no pullout) and we had to ask at least 5 times (calls, visits to front desk, file request through Bonvoy app…) over the course of 4 hours to finally get housekeeping services to bring a sheet and blanket to sleep on top of the couch. Last, we took a red eye flight to San Jose so we paid for an extra night so that we could use the room immediately upon checking in at 8am. I called ahead of time to tell the staff about our late check in plans. Still upon arrival the room was not ready. I’ll be more careful in the future assuming a level of standards simply because a hotel is part of the Bonvoy group, because this experience showed me that Bonvoy standards are not consistent after all.

"La Palma Bar Aurola Hotel"

The hotel location is great, but the rooms need more lovely, internet and tv only functions 2 days in 7 days, the breakfast the same food all the weeks, the great difference positive Sharon, Luisa and Daniel the bartender is the best attention and multitask at the bar La Palma, great person ready all the time for a happy service, gracias Daniel eres el mejor.
