Courtyard by Marriott Shenzhen Bay

It's in a great location right next to our offices, in the fast-growing Nanshan area near a business park (V-seen Park). Bytedance, Nvidia, DJI, WeBank, and us at EPAM are nearby. It looks and feels new and clean, with a cool modern design. From now on, I'll certainly use it for my work visits.

Upon arrival in the room, long black hair was on the floor. Otherwise, it looked very clean. Local, China internet is on hotel wifi; you'll need your own VPN to access external services.

This hotel is a notch up above other Courtyard brand hotels in the area. I loved the spacious room and appreciated food served at breakfast and in the members' lounge. The property is very well positioned, with a quick access to the bay, SZ sports center and great upscale shopping venues. The surrounding area is much more peaceful than the older parts of Shenzhen, yet still pretty close to the core of the city. definitely would stay there again.

The hotel WiFi connection is very bad. I thought I was in a 90's where the Internet WiFi is so slow and bad.

I have just spent 6 nights at this quality hotel. The Marriott Courtyard brand in China is so very different than in the USA - Really nice ! I’m Marriott Platinum, but was assigned to a regular room on the 9th floor - no problem - I was still able to access the executive lounge on the 10th floor. While the lounge can be very busy with families and children, the staff work very hard to accommodate everyone, particularly during the 5:30 PM… Appetizer (read dinner) period. The in - house restaurant is on the 4th floor. It is complimentary for Marriott Platinum and one guest. There was a wide range of food in the breakfast buffet, both Asian and Western. Even a Chocolate Fondue ! I looked forward to breakfast every morning. Housekeeping is outstanding and the room was always immaculate. Bed is very comfortable for a Westerner and shower pressure is good. I believe that the hotel is more than 5 years old, but it looks new. All hotel staff are friendly and try hard to ensure a positive stay. This hotel is located in the Technology Park, so can be a bit away from the action. One subway station “High Tech South” on Line 9 is only two minute walk and next to Marriott Renaissance. But, the “Keyuan” station on Line 2 ORANGE line is a half mile walk, is easy to find and will take you quickly to Sea World and the Shekou Ferry port. Not sure when I’ll be returning to Shenzhen in the future, but if I do, this place gets my vote.
