Courtyard Rochester East / Penfield

Pros: Salyne (Front Desk agent), she is so helpful and professional. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable Fridge is actually cold! Kept our drinks super cold. Laundry room is a life saver. No noise from other rooms. Facing the freeway but with white noise, you can’t hear traffic 30 min to Palmyra/Church history sites. Beautiful drive through small towns like Phelps, Egypt, Pittsford. Many food options around. We went to Michael’s Valley Grill. Good Gym Cons: Can’t open window-smelly room Small and thin bath towels, you’ll need 2… lol Rooms feel old

The hotel was nice and staff were welcoming. Next time I won’t stay on the first floor, the other guests who wake up super early to go to the breakfast area were extremely loud and woke me and my mother up.

Very clean with a friendly staff. There is a pool and gym but not much else other than their Bistro. If You’ve stayed at a Courtyard by Marriott before, it’s a typical hotel.

The elevator was out of service. Other than that everything else was fine

The property as presented on the web-site appeared to be very recently built, but in fact at a 2am check-in (badly delayed inbound flight) it was run-down and badly in need of refurbishment. The double-glazed windows leaked very cold air badly. Who ever installed your windows appears to have cheated badly or the contract was very poorly written.

Heat the common rooms PLEASE! The sterile style was almost as off-putting as the attitude of the staff. The staff gave the impression of having just been given a "pull up your socks" attitude lecture, but I never encountered anyone who gave the impression of having any responsibility for the success or failure of the enterprise

Marriott Courtyards are usually pretty good, though some of them are a little worse for wear. The Marriott Rochester East/Penfield looked and felt clean and new. Everyone was very friendly from beginning to end, the rooms were comfortable, and we were able to watch the Yankees game on a comfy sofa in the lobby. What more do you need?

Fridge in room

Room very hot, 79 degrees, and wall unit wouldn't work to cool it so we had to open the window. No free coffee or tea in the lobby and breakfast items expensive! Tattered couch, barely warmish shower, weird traffic pattern in bathroom. All this mediocrity for $285 per night!
