Historic Hotel Broadalbin

Not a totally pleasant experience. The owner was not a pleasant human. He should not be the face of their customer service team! He has a ready fire aim personality and made our stay uncomfortable from the moment we arrived. Although in the end he admitted his mistakes to his credit. He could use some training in his delivery and manners! Unfortunately I will not return to this establishment based on two separate incidents. Otherwise a satisfactory stay.

Great place to relax on balcony or the firepits. Every item ordered from the restaurant exceeded expectations.

Special from the Moment we booked to arrival & departure! Brittani accepted our booking instead of a computer & had a pleasant professional touch to her correspondence. Dave greeted us upon arrival with his small town welcoming & showed us the room & amenities. Thanks to Brittani we had dinner reservations less than 200 steps from our room. They have a down & upstair roomy porch. We watched the sunset top (thanks to recommendation from Dave!). Even the morning employee ask if we needed anything for our room.

Pros: Room looked nice and clean. Cons: Was sent a text for my Sunday stay to park in rear, was given a code to enter back door which I had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs which I almost fell coming down, key was in room door, exterior run down, stayed in Osborne Room which was right by road with loud traffic so we got hardly any sleep, King bed had creaky springs and very loud, we woke up with back aches, room was freezing when entering, no cable, small tv, no blackout drapes, light came through 3 sides of door from hallway lights making room too bright, no bar soap or disposable toiletrees given but only glass bottle with shampoo, conditioner and lotion in room for each guest to reuse with Covid still going and antibacterial liquid hand soap.Too late to cancel reservation. Restaurant closed, cafe closed. Church across street kept making loud dong noises every hour at 8 am and loud music. Rooms not sound proofed, heard tv, someone yelling, vaccuuming, making load noises. Never again. This is not a quiet place to stay and out of over $190 plus 4% fee.

Great place

The hotel is stunning! I found it while scrolling through Expedia and seeing one mediocre chain hotel after another priced like resorts (when did Holiday Inn & Hampton become $300/night???). This hotel popped up with a $112 night special and while it was slightly out of the way for me, the price was right enough for me to detour. So glad I did!! Late check-in was a breeze and the staff was incredibly kind. I travel across the country frequently and will absolutely stay here again.
