Staff and owners very friendly and helpful, lovely family place

I think the previous occupants had a dog which had urinated on the floor, it had been cleaned but smelt still. Also the shower had very little pressure so was hard rinsing hair - I must say we didn’t tell the owners about issues as we were only there late and gone early in the morning. I’m sure they would’ve sorted something out as they’re super friendly

Perfect location after a whole day in the theme park. Comfy beds, cosy pub with fire, drinks, food and games. Very welcoming and friendly staff and a delicious full English breakfast in the mornings to set you up for the new day.

Everything was good except the WiFi signal but other than that we all enjoyed our stay.

We could all stay in one room, 2 double beds and a bunk bed and an en suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast which was all freshly cooked to order and good value. We definitely recommend this place and will be returning.

It's a great place close to alton towers which we were there for full day and so 6mins drive was ideal.

We chose Peakstones Inn as it was so close (7 mins drive) to Alton Towers. It was very quaint with a lovely real fire and old features. The room (Chalet 1) was nice, clean and what we expected. The bed was average comfort but the room was a decent size with a good shower. We had an evening meal each night, which was nice. The staff were friendly. Payment was taken automatically for the room, which made it easy, though I had to check if it had been paid or not.

When we arrived the place looked shut. We had had a text from the owner asking for rough time of arrival, but the front door was closed and locked and didn’t look very welcoming. We found a sign by the side door telling guest to call the owner on arrival, and she promptly came and showed us round, gave keys and pointed us to our room. We were told to come in via the side door if we wanted food later, which we did. We understand it was mid-week and term time so maybe things are different at other times. The other thing was there was very little Internet reception and, as far as we could tell, no WiFi.

Bed was uncomfy

Met a lovely lady called Margaret and she welcomed us even we arrived so early and show us the rooms and the menu. Told me little bit about the pub history. We had a meal in their restaurant and played round of pool. The fire was lovely. And also the breakfast and dinner was lovely… and the room we slept was comfy but maybe wifi would be bonus as signals is not quite good.
