Hampton Inn St Charles St Peters

Friendly staff, good breakfast. The tv in our room didn’t work but they did offer us another room. Would stay there again.

The facility was an older Hampton, the air-conditioner was noisy, the elevators were extremely noisy as older elevators are.

Easily accessible from I-70.

They have bed bugs !!!

The bed needed a new mattress and pillows were very flat. The air conditioner couldnt pull the humidity out of the room so it was like sleeping in a cave. The wall thermostat didnt match up with the air conditioner. The breakfast area was rundown. Seats had plastic over the holes in the seats.

Check-in attendant was like a prison security guard, sternly unfriendly. Never told us there was a boil order & to not drink the water. Fortunately we had brought our own. Also did not receive any compensation for the inconvenience. Place needs maintenance like crazy but unfortunately probably gets a once over to get by. Seating in eating area should be replaced. Tables are nicked up. Actual items available for breakfast more than most places. Lady attendant again not friendly & was unaware she serviced area by blocking guests from getting food. No microwaves in rooms. No ramps at rear exits. Sheets were a bit itchy like they used a harsh detergent but liked the shampoo, conditioner , lotion & shower gel line provided. Only 2 bath towels, 2 wash cloths & 2 hand towels. We had booked 2 nights & asked for towels to be renewed & that didn’t happen. I retrieved new towels myself at front desk. I don’t know why Hotels.com asks if there are any special requests. Ms. Unfriendly on check-in says they do not get those requests-tho it showed on my receipt. Main floor, quiet room were our requests. We got a 4th (top floor) floor room in the middle of the hallway. Had to wait constantly for the elevator. Like everywhere it seems this place needs more or better yet, better employees.

I appreciate the comfortable beds. The place is pretty worn out though. And the walls are thin. We could hear the person next door snoring the first night. Then the next we could hear adults very much enjoying each other’s company. The traffic from the road is very loud at all hours. We saw a few ants in the room upon arrival and a handful more while there for two nights. With the exception of the ants the room was very clean. The pool was indoor with seemingly no ventilation. This area matched the rest of the hotel in being very worn out. We did enjoy the breakfast and all staff we encountered were pleasant. All and all we will choose a different hotel next time we're in the area but it's not bad enough to find other accommodations for this trip.

Wasn't sure I wanted to give this hotel another chance. Last time my room smelled of cigarettes and front desk clerk on duty refused to move me, was dismissive, and rude. Much better experience this time.
