Smelly room, bathroom floor kind of dirty

This is my go-to for Meow Wolf concerts just a few blocks walk away.

I was disappointed at every turn of this property.

I was informed after we checked in that there was no elevator when asked to be to the first floor I informed that would be a rebooting fee and might make the system forfeit my deposit. So we stayed in our upper room. The stairs were an open structure that moved and made a horrible noise that I was sure would be proceeded by the whole thing crashing to the ground. The building is probably 60 years old, and you could tell. The walls are paper thin, and the building had a smell of decay. Older doors and wall sockets that didn't work showed every year. The carpet my the bottom of my socks black When checking in, we asked for a late check out of 1230. The desk attendant said yes. There was a load knock on the door every 20 minutes after 1120. Lastly I was rudely informed that the front desk doesn't give out receict for my records I was beyond frustrated and disappointed

The front desk and staff were very friendly and courteous.

The room and bathroom were dirty. The room smelled strongly like urine. There is mold growing from every nook and baseboard. The carpet, curtains, bed spread were very old. The lighting was white and clinical in the room. The bathroom mirror light did not work so I couldn't see my face. The bathtub curtain was not installed properly so it wouldn't stay on, water splashed everywhere flooding the floor next to the toilet. The heating unit is weak, not really suitable for winter months and bedding also not suitable for winter months. Not all light fixtures/lamps worked. Outside the room in the hallway a fire detector beeped day and night during the whole 4 day stay (battery low). The pool is broken. The price for the stay was higher than that of motel chains next around on the same road, not sure why with all these negatives. The only plus was the staff was kind and friendly but management of this place would get a negative score if possible.
