Hampton Inn Brookhaven

The room we received smelled like mold. I immediately informed the staff and they handed me Lysol and an air freshener. Although they said they were booked I complained about it. They did not attempt to look for a solution. After 2 days in the room my wife developed breathing issues and I went to the staff again. They said I had to wait until the morning shift for them to try to move me. I even told them that my wife had to leave the room and was sleeping in our vehicle and no movement from the staff. I proceeded to pack up the room while my wife was in our vehicle in the event that we found a new room. I even went on line and it showed that there was a mobility room available but the staff said it was a mix up between the location and corporate. My wife came back to the hotel and asked to speak to a manager and guess what they did, give us the mobility room I asked for an hour before. Needless to say I tried to get a refund for the 3 days of suffering from the hotel and Expedia but of course I received nothing from the hotel saying it was against policy and Expedia only offered a refund that I can only use if I use Expedia to book something else. I wanted my money back for the 3 days of suffering in that room but I got nothing. They both took my money and that was that.

Breakfast was very good, location was also good. The condition of the AC unit did not match the rest of the room. Room was very clean and in very good condition. But the AC unit quality and cleanliness did not match all the other aspects of the room.

The AC unit was very, very noisy. It needed maintenance. The filter had not been changed in a very long time (maybe years). If not for the poor quality of the AC I would give the overall room rating a very high rating.

Very clean and quite. The facilities were great. Breakfast was awesome. Nice outside by pool or sitting under pergola.

Room stayed a little warm for a while even after I adjusted the thermostat. But not hot.
