"Great Home Base for San Miguel de Allende Visitors"

10.0

Villa Limon is a fine choice. A tastefully decorated boutique, Limon is "fun sized" at just seven rooms. As others have noted, this translates to attentive service and a great guest experience. Our room was true to the photos, very inviting, with large windows (that open), extremely comfortable bed and bedding, large bath with modern shower, looking out over the lovely courtyard (where we were lucky to observe a local wedding prenuptual party--which ended promptly at 10 when the restaurant closed). Rooms are large and very interesting in their configurations and decor, it felt much like a European boutique. Be aware that our room, Limonella, is accessible only via two flights of stairs. It appears all other rooms are accessible by elevator. Not a problem for us, but so you know. The staff, while not fluent in English, are all very kind and patient with guests who struggle with Spanish. We had no real communication problems. The young front desk attendant even provided us some smaller bills for tipping from her own purse. These people want you to have a pleasant stay, and it shows. Breakfast at the lovely rooftop restaurant, Zuma, is a real treat. Not a lot of variety in the offering (we stayed a week), but it's quite good, fresh and well-prepared as others have noted. Service from Carla and Rebecca was consistently gracious, outstanding. With fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, and great eggs prepared your way, you will be ready for the long walking day. Excellent!

"Great Home Base for San Miguel Travelers"

10.0

Villa Limon is a fine choice for those wanting a nice place but wishing to avoid a soulless corporate palace (of which there are a few). Service from Carla and Rebecca was consistently gracious, outstanding. With fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, good coffee, and expertly prepared egg and other dishes, you will be ready for the long San Miguel walking day. About the noise--yes, San Miguel is a vibrant, noisy town. That should be assumed from the outset by any traveler wishing to visit. But Limon is the right distance from the square to be fairly quiet at night, yet an easy walk of a couple of blocks up Canal street to the main square. Of course, there is a large property right next door that hosts loud parties from time to time, but there's not much Villa Limon can do about that, nor can they quiet the occasional fireworks barrage or car alarm, which echo through the stone streets at unpredictable hours. We had a party next door on Saturday that was indeed loud, but they broke up at about midnight. The individual A/C makes a basic white noise that helps too. Noise-cancelling headphones also helped. It's the same everywhere, unless you want to be far from the action and spend a small fortune on taxis (which are relatively expensive for Mexico). All in all, we were very satisfied with Villa Limon and definitely would return.

"When you need to unplug"

10.0

Stayed at Villa Limón for a planning trip for my daughter’s up coming wedding. We loved the old world charm of the place. Our room was super spacious. Bed was comfortable, the courtyard as you walked in had multiple tables and chairs to sit and relax. But the true star of the show was the rooftop lounge/restaurant. The service was good. Our daily breakfast was included. And the view, day or night (sunset is best) is spectacular. One of the best views in the city. Whether you stay at Villa Limón, or just pop in for drinks at sunset, you will not be disappointed.
